Chloe is a bad person and a bad character, change my mind.
She's selfish, childish, moody, and constantly puts the people around her in danger. She never accepts responsibility for her screw-ups. she always blames the actions of other people for all her problems when it is in fact her own fault her life is a miserable mess during the events of LiS 1

Can't argue with that. Don't really like her either.

Go watch the end of the game again. After Max goes through Warren's selfie - play through the rest of the game from that point onward. (you can skip the nightmare if you want) Watch and listen to Chloe and everything she says, does, and feels.

Once you're done with that, come on back here and then we can talk.

at the end of the game, when the devs are desperately trying to convince you to save chloe instead of everyone else? it was an abrupt 180 in her character and even if it was genuine, she would almose certainly go immediatly back to her old self after the end of the game. what positive qualities does chloe have?

It was genuine. Max came to her completely broken and in tears after enduring the horrific events of Episode 5, and seeing her best friend traumatized like that - and realizing that she might be to blame for bringing her along on the whole investigation - that's what caused Chloe to start thinking about the rest of the world instead of just herself. That's when her selfishness started to crumble and fade, until finally she was willing to sacrifice her life for the greater good and for all the people she realized never stopped loving her all along. That was the final point in her character arc - realizing that Joyce never stopped loving her daughter, William's death was a tragic accident and he didn't abandon her, and above all - that Max loved her best friend all along, and would have stayed if she could. It wasn't their fault - but it wasn't Chloe's, either. It's just life. Life is strange, sometimes.

I recommend playing Before the Storm. Lots of people who didn't like Chloe started to love her after that game. It's really good.

Maybe you should have paid more attention.
Chloe Price is one of the best characters in gaming, even without the additional context of Before the Storm.

what makes her the best? what qualities does she have that completely outweigh all of her negative qualities?

now i know youre just trolling.
rachel is impulsive, has poor judgement, and after finding out her mother was a junkie and endangered her, wanted to go find her because... why? she was also kind of manipulative to chloe, but thats more a side effect of chloe being an idiot at 16. now chloe was even worse in this game than in the first. even more whiney, more disrespectful, more impulsive and once again had the worst, cringiest dialogue (not a real reason, that was just bad writers trying to be funny again)
please explain how either of these characters are good. nex youre going to tell me that Daniel and Shaun's mom is a good person
Cyborg225 Aug 24, 2019 @ 9:18am
no she didnt. if anything, it became a more hostile form of whining. and you didnt even address the other points i made. And like I said, Rachel knew nothing other than her mom was a junkie who was a danger to her, but for some reason it was the most important thing in the world for her to meet her. Why? no reason, really. because story i suppose

i wouldnt still be acting like a dumbass punk teen living with my mother at 19 years old

>selfish
>was ready to sacrifice her life to save Arcadia Bay and everyone in it

do you think she was less selfish after that? one moment of clarity is not enought evidence that someone has actually changed. and on top of that, that whole speech was written to convince you to care for chloe and make you forget all the bad ♥♥♥♥, because the devs have some f*cked up pricefield hard-on i guess. you cant judge someone's character based on one event.

It wasn't one event, it was written all over her face, expressions, and language after Max went into Warren's selfie.

Did you replay the game from that moment onward by the way?
