That happens when you travel through time, it's totally normal :D

Each day has it's own apocalyptic warning weird screw up thingy. Like the tornado, snow, beached whale. Interestingly enough though, there have been reports in history of witnessing 2 moons. I think the most recent one was by a roman army just before a battle that they horribly lost, the others were before that, like babylonian iirc. :)

I think we see two overlapping realities.
Just NASA trolling people with a hologram.

This is what I assume to be the case. We're witnessing an intersection between two versions of reality caused by Max's power.

Specifically her travel back through the picture Warren took in to talk Chloe out of going to the party. It's the last or next to last jump you do depending on your ending selection.

I believe that's also why we see the two moons resolve into one as they leave the party, since the intersection is complete.

...and the moon is at a higher position in the sky during the time Max is in Jefs bunker as a couple hours have progressed

Max has really pushed the time barrier to the breakning point and almost damage the space/time continuum forever.

Maybe that is is reason for the temporal displacement of the ekstra moon in our reailty.

well.. i'm not a scientist, but i'm pretty sure 2 moons this close together would instantly collide.

Surely then the extra moon should disappear as they enter the party as that is the divergent point. When she talks Chloe out of chasing after Nathan they don't even enter the party.
