Saving Chloe from the train (Episode 2)

The only problem I found here is how to get up to the shack.
I must have rewound half a dozen times at least simply because I couldn't find the way up.
Is there a trick to this, or can someone tell me a way to locate this exact point?

When Chloe is trapped on the tracks all you have to do is walk up the path to get to the shack. The very short path leads from just beside the train tracks up to the shack. If I remember correctly the path starts almost at about the same place Chloe is trapped.
When you get up there you need to retrieve certain items as well outside and inside the shack. There are a couple of different ways to free Chloe from the set of points trapping her foot. Check the large cable drum right near the edge for one solution. The other solution is to throw the points yourself so she can get her foot out. You will need items collected from outside and inside the shack to do either one.

Are you talking literally how to get up the hill? I had an issue with this on my first play through. I think the key is, don't worry about Chloe. You can rewind infinitely. So start on one side and slowly look for the spot while moving to the opposite side. As for the spot itself, stand next to chloe and face the shack. Walk toward the shack and it will be slightly to the left next to a rock. You'll see an incline angling off to the right.

The whole train rescue is similar: don't actually worry about Chloe. Just search for what you need to do and when Chloe is about to die, rewind. Since Max stays in the same spot, you can continuie on without losing any ground.

Yeah here is the whole solution....

Follow the path to the shack like Peter suggested, it should be very easy to find as is is right near where Chloe is trapped. Once you get there you should see a large drum and if you check it out closer you will see that it is being held there by a wedge of wood, you need to remove that if you want to use that solution to save Chloe. Then you just need to push the cable drum a bit so it rolls off of the bank and smashes into the train track switch which then moves the tracks so you can now free Chloe's foot from being trapped.

The other solution is a bit more involved and with it you are required to enter the shack and find a pair of wire cutters in one of the drawers. To get into the shack you need to find the crowbar which is just to the left once you go up the path to the same level that the shack is on. The crowbar is easy to see so then you take it and go over to the door of the shack and use it on the door to pry it open. Once that is done go inside and search the drawers for the wire cutters, once you have those simply go back outside and jump down to where the train track switch is and open the little box that is on the switch. Inside that box is some wires and it has been a long time since I played the game but I believe you need to cut the red wire, once that is done the tracks will switch and you can run over to Chloe and pull her up to her feet so the train does not hit her.

If at any time during that you need to rewind because you were to slow you can do that however if you do all of the steps properly and in a timely fashion there should be no need to rewind at all...

Thanks for that. The video shows me exactly where to go - and I was misled because a walkthrough I looked at gave me the wrong information!
