Games similar to LiS on steam?
So, I guess the title says it. I'm looking for a game that is similar to LiS. It doesn't nessecarily have to invole time travel or any kind of superpowers. More something that incorporates story altering mechanics or maybe just a game with a similar "mood", you know?
I know there are games like Beyond Two Souls and Heavy Rain, but I'm PC only, so that's unfortunately not an option (as much as I'd love to play this games).
The only other game I have played that has similar mechanics as LiS, is Fable: The Lost Chapters I guess.

Thanks, I'll check it out 😄
Edit: Sound interesting and I really like the soundtrack. I think I have to get used to this "Chibi-kinda" art style, but I guess if the story/gameplay is interesting, I don't think that'd be much of a problem.

I really like how this game plays around with different camera angles and perspective. It has a sorta "Stranger Things" vibe to it. Seems interesting.

This game is older but it is one of my all time favorite games and the new game Dreamfall Chapters was based on this game, The Longest Journey.... graphics are a bit dated but it is a very good game and has an excellent storyline. The protagonist is female and she is voiced extremely well by Sarah Hamilton...

People always ignore when I tell them.

CONSORTIUM. It's the closest to LiS you'll ever play. And it's great, too.

Also the sequel comes out somewhat soon, which continues the story, letting you upload save from the first game, letting you roll with consequences of your choices from the first game.

kinda off-topic but a word of warning: my brother/my girlfriend/ I can't launch Consortium and we've got 3 entirely different computers. plus, we all bought Consortium and last year it was given away for free on gog.com . I don't think I'll be buying a Consortium 2 .

on topic: if you don't mind playing walking simulators, you should play "Blackwood Crossing" and "Gone Home" ! oh and the less you know about those 2 games, the better your first playthrough will be.

Are all of these computers laptops with integrated sheite gfx card like Intel HD?

Because if so, that might be the problem.

Other than that, plenty of games seem to have issues with "overlay" and recording software, like:
- Overwolf
- OBS
- Nvidia Shadowplay
- I think one time I even read about Fraps causing issues

Eventually if it's Windows 10, you might need to install older DirectX content. Not game's fault.

It's really strange. Very few people had problems like that (mainly laptop Intel HD users).

Remember: if you buy a game on Steam and it doesn't work, you can always refund it before 2 weeks \ 2 hours of gameplay has passed. It's a really good system, so make use of it.

It's a little old, but http://store.steampowered.com/app/312840/Fahrenheit_Indigo_Prophecy_Remastered/

Story is really good (I don't say that lightly) and it plays exactly like Life is Strange. Three different endings depending on your choices. It's a bit more adult themed though. Metacritic gave it an 85%, but most other review sites gave it a 60%~. I enjoyed it though. For $10 it's worth the money, I think.

This was actually the first video game I've ever played and I can really recommend it. I guess, I'll buy it on steam, just for the "nostalgia" factor.

Forget it, there is no game like LIS except before the storm ;)

well, I've got a laptop with an Intel HD, but my laptop also has an Nvidia gfx card, so maybe I'll reinstall Consortium and switch to the Nvidia, we'll see how that goes...
but my brother/girlfriend have got "real" computers. dunno bout the setup though.

yeah I know, I've refunded tons of games, but I didn't want to refund Consortium, bc all the reviews were saying that the story is so damn good and I love games which are heavy on the story aspect. :summerghost:
it's over. Sep 6, 2017 @ 5:17pm
You can pretty much play any game by the studio Telltale. They were probably a big inspiration for the LiS team as the gameplay of their games is pretty much the same. They are also heavily story based. I highly recommend The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands.

I've played so many good games, but LiS is by far the best i have and probably will ever play, I really like the new prequal too, though I wish it was a sequal instead.
