Games Similar to LiS?
I want to play something similar to LiS. Thoughts?

QUICK UPDATE: Funny thing, but when I'm reading the replies for this thread, I see that many people mention that LiS was so emotionaly devistating. I remember that someone said that they had to play non-emotional games for a while to ease back into playing story based games, because LiS hit them so hard. For some very strange reason, I did not feel that way with LiS. Going back to about ten months ago when I finished the game, I remember taking a solid 15 minutes to think about the two choices that I could make at the end of the game. I remember that even after 15 minutes of thinking, I couldn't make up my mind, so I just pressed both of the buttons on my controller at the same time (I ended up choosing to sacrifice Arcadia Bay, but I wasn't happy with that ending and decided to see what would happen when I chose the other ending). While watching the ending, I felt pretty glum, and I was close to being on the brink of tears, but for some reason (compared to everyone else) I wasn't as emotionaly touched by the game as others. After playing Firewatch, I felt nothing at all. Strange. I wonder why this is?

How spooky is the game? I'm not a huge fan of the horror genre :P

To the Moon is a great example, more of an interactive story/film than anything else, but still incredible. It's an RPG with no horror parts at all :)

I think this game isn't spooky. Check it out on YT:2016gameingame:
Especially that Oxenfree costs 5$

Let us know what you want to see more of. Teenage drama? Time travel? Small-town eerieness? Out-of-left-field surprises?
Oxenfree is the closest game. And To the Moon is a good recommendation. Telltale games are close in genre of course.
'Deadly Premonition' and 'Alan Wake' in case you want to see some more of the small eerie town antics.

I'm looking for something that I can have some sort of emotional conection with. Something that will "hit you right in the feels". If you have played LiS, you will know what I mean, mainly at the very end of the game.

As I suggested before, To The Moon has exactly what you're looking for

Hey I just bought Oxenfree. I'm installing it right now. Did i make a good purchase? I just want to feel like when I finished LiS (tough i know that's not possible at all) but I just want to really love the game. Am I going to do so?

I've seen youtubers crying with that game, I do not buy it because honestly those types of graphics do not attract me, although if at some point it's on offer, I'll give it a try.

That's why I do not know if I want to buy it yet, because of its graphics. But my friend told me this is a really really really good and lovely story. So... when it's on sale, i'll give it a try. I hope it worths it though.

Well... What about ''Dreamfall Chapters''? Did you play it? Want to know about this game too.

The longest journey has some similarities.
Female protagonist+first time she goes away from her family to an Academy, where she discovers things are not exactly what she expected. It's an adventure game with puzzles + old now and the graphics are outdated, but it is definitely worth a try.

You should definitely try Firewatch (6hrs) and SOMA (12hrs). But the latter is perhaps way to creepy for your taste. Storywise both are great and will guarantee you the same feeling you had after finishing LiS.
