When you look up what songs chloe listen to it's not metal. She listens to sparklehorse and Angus&Julia stone who are indie rock and folk pop.

She's into punk too, when you go on her computer in the timeline that William is alive, one of the tabs is a local punk scene website. Her general appearance suggests this too but that could just be part of her "rebelling"

That would be a different Chloe and her taste in music doesn't neccesarily reflect that of the other Chloe.

Yea, but her fashion sense is punk, she changes the music in the diner to a punk song and in episode 3 she literally calls herself a "spooky punk ghost"

Alternate Chloe really has no reason to be rebellious, and she doesn't exactly have the capability either.

Alternate Chloe just wanted to die.

I liked the music fine, but a little different kinds to shake things up a bit would have been more realistic in a school like the one Max attended. Also, having AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" playing at a few different points (like when the train is coming for Chloe) would have made me smile.

As for the original music, I love guitars and wish like hell that I could play one, so that part of the soundtrack was quite fine.

'Being bad' and 'Not likeing it' are two seperate things. I personally, along with a majority of everyone here, love the soundtrack. If you dont like it, then listen to more of it before developing it, or simply accept it as your opinion and be done with it.

Max is an indie fan all the way, clearly evident by how she acts, and the fact she practices guitar. Chloe is a hardcore Punk fan, but she isnt allowed to listen to it at home, because David despises the music. We never see Chloe alone, only alongside Max, where she'd much rather chat with her then listen to music. Chloe listens to the sweet song in her bedroom because Rachel liked it. it's the song that represents her.

I pay WAY too much attention to the little details....

I feel the music is well chosen and fits the atmosphere of the game incredible well. I personally feel that if you put in any more upbeat loud music, it would over shadow the game, and what it tries to convey, but the current soundtrack is like a tandem dance, it compliments each other. It's beautiful.

Hey I actually bought the game twice when Dontnod released the limited edition because it comes with a soundtrack CD and I wanted it for my car, so to each their own. See the thing is some of us LOVE the music in LiS and then there are folks like the OP who would rather listen to Heavy Metal, I am guessing.... :LIS_star:
Whats wrong with Heavy Metal?

Nothing however as others have said Heavy Metal would not fit the mood of a game like Life is Strange and Dontnod would not have won the multitude of awards that they won if they had chosen Heavy Metal tracks for the game.

I am also not a fan of Heavy Metal, I love Rock and roll, Blues, and Life is Strange turned me on to Indie Rock/Pop and now I love it too. I also play the guitar and have been the lead guitar in a few Rock bands earlier in my life, I still play for enjoyment but I no longer play in any bands.

Why do people keep thinking i want it in the game...? It would not fit the mood ATALL unless its was an atmospheric track or Max was a metalhead or summin. I said that as he insulted OP by saying he probly didn't like the soundtrack because he liked metal or something

As much as I like some of the songs in LIS, it is rather strange (no pun intended), but understandable that one of the song tracks of Chloe's playlist (Santa Monica Dream) is a foreign, indie, folk music considering it would cost Dontnod a pretty penny to have mainstream music for the game. Imo, getting maintstream songs for the game might be distracting and in a way, product placement, as more people would be more distracted in hearing 2013 alternative rock songs. As much as Guardians of the Galaxy was successful, if the wrong songs were chosen, it would be a distraction from the storyline and the mood like Suicide Squad.

While Piano Fire doesn't seem to be the type of music to go mosh driving, it works for Chloe as she clearly a rocker chick.

As for Max, she is a bit of an odd duck who follows the beat of her own drummer, so her taste in indie music is quite logical and natural to her character.
