How fast do I need to be for top 100?
Right now I'm at 284th place for regular mode with 1.54m/s climb. Is anyone at or around the 100 mark? What's the m/s look like?

Of course you can be fast and consistent in general, but if you get something like 1 or 2 Elastic Limbs perks, +75% climbing speed +25% mass speed experimental perk or bunch of midair jumps at the beginning, etc. (on a clean run), then it's like you aren't even playing the same game anymore. You just fly up with no effort and can easily recover from mistakes. Also not getting really bad rooms (like not getting tons of slow Waste Heap and Air Exchange rooms) helps. I have gotten runs with much higher score despite being a slower m/s, probably because score takes height into consideration (got a lucky tall substructure).

The only non-RNG tip I would give is to just kind of spam items unless you are saving them for a specific purpose. If you hesitate for a moment in a section before finding a route, it's very likely you could have just rebar / flare boosted and skipped the thinking process.

Around 1.9-2m/s. Upgrades are important for reaching the top 100 if that's what you're going for.
