Five Nights at Freddy's

Five Nights at Freddy's

Interested in the game, but jumpscares are too loud...
I have a sensitivity to loud noises. They can spook me but more importantly they genuinely physically hurt my ears. From what I understand, you NEED to be able to hear to play the game, but I don't want my eardrums burst out from the jumpscare screams. I already have hearing problems, I don't want them and my tinnitus to get worse.

Are there any mods to reduce the volume of the jumpscares to be a little quieter, so that they're still startling but not ear-piercing?

And further, do any future entries in the series have any jumpscare volume control?

luckily this game doesn’t need sound cues as bad as future games in the series like fnaf 6 or 4 (don’t buy those games, it literally depends completely on sound). so you can play muted, just use door lights more often.

but if you’re really desperate, there’s some software that lets you open the fnaf files, (forgot the name but it’s alot of work to get running, but if you get it to work, just lower the volume in audacity or something and your good)

there’s a great chance im wrong, but i think in newer games like into the pit, jumpscare volume can be lowered.

tldr: you don’t need sound cues in fnaf 1 that badly, but if you want to play normally without risking your eardrums exploding, it’s possible to edit volume if you manage to get into the files.

Sorry about the late reply, I didn't get notified for some reason. But thank you for your thoughtful answer! I'll have to try and find out what program it is...
