I suggested Outlast since it was also an indie game and, along with the DLC, came out last year just before FNAF was released. I'm surprised that a game as scary as Outlast didn't get as much notoriety than FNAF, but then again, it's $20 + $10 DLC compared to FNAF's $5 and it's definitely NOT for children since FNAF is easy to pick up and relies on jumpscares to scare you while Outlast is more atmospheric and uses adrenaline and tension to scare the player.
Anyway, I haven't checked out RE3 yet (or rather any Resident Evil games) so I'll make sure to look into it.
There's a bit of tension going on in FNAF, as you search through cameras, hoping no one slips in while you're doing it. Actually, that's what I found more appealing and unnerving about it. The jumpscares are only even remotely scary the first or second times, then they're just annoying.
