"Four Games, One Story." Does anyone remember this hint?
I'll be serious about this, such a hint from so long ago seems easy to dismiss as inapplicable, but when I used it in a certain way, it seems to work. For example, when I group the first four games together, the story is about the Missing Children and the Crying Child a.k.a Evan Afton (or Dave depending on how you solve that one puzzle in the Survival Logbook). Evan died at Fredbear's Diner on his birthday in 1983 while a Missing Children incident presumably happened at the New Freddy's in 1987. This means that Happiest Day in FNAF3 was the Puppet's spirit recreating Evan's birthday party for the Missing Children of 1987 to attend since that was when they died.

However, FNAF4 also starts a new story involving Evan's brother Michael, which lasts up until UCN, where William Afton, the father of the two plus Elizabeth, is trapped in some hellish nightmare created by a vengeful spirit of "the one you should not have killed" (several animatronics have post-death lines that refer to this spirit and "The Man in Room 1280" from Fazbear Frights further employs that idea).

This unfortunately caused trouble for everyone else in a third story, mainly Fazbear Entertainment LLC, who managed to get back in business and tried burying William's legacy whilst attempting to make light and profit of their checkered past. Since William was still trapped on Earth, his agony from his torture in UCN was left on the CPU of his old Spring Bonnie suit, which Fazbear LLC recovered along with the newly discovered Mimic1 program and gave it to Silver Parasol Games, who developed Help Wanted. In doing so they allowed Mimic1 to create Glitchtrap, a software anomaly that possessed William's memories and behavior, managing to find a reluctant follower in Vanessa, who later adopted the alias of Vanny. At first Vanny proved useful, kidnapping kids and quietly killing them off, but then Gregory, who may have been Glitchtrap's follower in "GGY" from Tales from the Pizzaplex, was able to find out how to free Vanessa from Glitchtrap by playing the Princess Quest arcade games. In the end, during Help Wanted 2, Glitchtrap was (SPOILER ALERT!!) destroyed by Vanny herself, who in turn waved goodbye and faded into the darkness.

In short, if Four Games, One Story means four games tell one story, and the stories do intertwine with each other, the FNAF1 through FNAF4 was about the Missing Children, FNAF4 throught UCN was about the Afton family, and UCN through Help Wanted 2 was about William Afton's legacy being continued by Mimic1. That's just my observation.
