8. Ultimate Custom Night: I adore this game, but it's not scary. Like at all. I don't need to explain anything.
7. Sister Location: Yeah despite the hangings and getting scooped and the funtime foxy section, this game isn't really that scary to me personally, and like UCN, I love this game, but it's not that scary.
6. Fnaf 2: For how low on the list it is, I think the jumpscares in this game are decently startling. Still, this game suffers from not having a scary atmosphere and how you know when something is going to attack you.
5. Fnaf 1: Ahhh... I just burnt my finger on that hot take. Anyway, I don't find Fnaf 1 as scary as the other games. The atmosphere is great and the jumpscares are good, but the other games just do some things better.
4. Fnaf 3: This is where the scares start to come in. While the Springtrap jumpscare is whatever and you could make an argument that the lack of harmful animatronics lowers the tension, I think this game is pretty spooky. It has the most sickening atmosphere, and it feels worn down, the phantom jumpscares are good, and most importantly. The panic. Where Fnaf 3 shines are your first time playing it. You don't know how anything works, and when basically anything happens it's a scare all on its own. You go from trying to figure out the mechanics, to panicked and overwhelmed extremely quickly. It's funny how I had the most amount of things to say on the weakest game in the franchise. (I still like Fnaf 3, just not as much as the others.)
3. Pizzeria Simulator: My favorite Fnaf game is also one of the scariest. While the simulator part is charming and all that, the other two parts of the game are genuinely chilling. The office gameplay is tense, the atmosphere is simple but scary, and while the jumpscare animations themselves are fine, the jumpscare noise is the scariest of any fnaf game, easily. But the most unnerving part of the game is undoubtedly the salvage minigame. While the gameplay itself is easy enough (Except for Scrap Baby and Lefty's bs.), the chilling atmosphere, the oddly spooky tape noises, and never knowing when the animatronics will jumpscare you adds up to one of the most tense and scary parts of the entire franchise.
2. Fnaf 4: Not much to say here really. The atmosphere is the scariest in any game, the jumpscares are incredible, it's just horrifying. That's all really.
1. Help Wanted: Yeah you knew this would be at the top. Not only are you experiencing Freddy and friends in full 3d, not only are they always looking for a moment to get near, not only are they enormous up close, not only are the jumpscares right in your face and make you literally fall out of your chair, not only is the new character Glitchtrap is creepy as heck, but they forgot to put Mr. Hippo in the game. A truly petrifying experience.
Thanks for reading this, and thanks for checking out this discussion, I really appreciate it!
7. UCN
Seems to be more about the gameplay than being scary. A lot of the jumpscares also aint too great cuz space issues for Scott. I guess you could give it points for the multitasking thing, but you don't usually play that way. Still one of the better games tho! :)
6. FNAF 3
The jumpscares and the jumpscare scream just are not that scary, but its above UCN because it's pretty scary when you can't find Springtrap on the cameras and feel like hes in your office.
5. FNAF 4/FNAF 4 Halloween Edition (Ik halloween edition is not on mobile but I think it would be the same.)
You probably thought this would be higher, but the thing is, the jumpscares are pretty predictable in my opinion. Halloween edition is the same gameplay but with reskinned characters. (Yes I know Nightmarrione is not a reskin but its still the gameplay.)
4. FNAF 2
Mainly nights 3 and forward. The main thing that makes it scary is how stressful it is. You have to multitask quite a bit doing things like checking the hallway and vents, winding up the music box, flashing foxy, trying to put the mask on fast enough to stop Toy Freddy, Withered Freddy, Withered Bonnie, or Withered Chica. Again, trying to do all of these things for about 6 minutes with the risk of jumpscares.
3. FNAF SL
Note: I have not unlocked the custom night so I wont talk about it. The jumpscare screams are good, first of all, but also, All the different mechanics throughout the nights tend to be unsettling. I think the Ballora gallery part does a much better job of having to listen for sounds with possible incoming jumpscares than the breathing mechanic from FNAF 4. Lastly, I think the part on night 5 where you have to enter the code is really stressful from having to listen to her words and type so fast.
2. FNAF (a.k.a FNAF 1)
Honestly, this would be 4 or 5 if it were not for Freddy's Jumpscare when you run out of power. You do not know when he will come, so it's really suprising. Even when you have seen it before it is still kinda scary. Other than that, it doesn'y scare me too much tho.
1. FFPS (a.k.a FNAF 6)
It's pretty scary when you have a lot of noise and feel like you are about to die, it's scary seeing them close on the motion detector, it gets scarier when you start having to deal with more characters the jumpscare scream is one of, if not the best in the series, and as for the jumpscares themselves, people seem to say they are not good due to the lack of animation, but I think they are some of the scarier ones because they are less predictable than most. Lastly, it also has the stress with the multitasking, i'm not really sure if it does it better, but in many ways, it adds I higher stress factor than in FNAF 2. The reason i'm unsure is because the tasks are automated after you quickly active them, and there is not as much you need to do, but unlike FNAF 2, where the night goes on for about 6 minutes no matter what, in this game, YOU have to do things to actually progress the night.
p.s this doesn't inclued fnaf ar or fnaf world or freddy in space or fnaf vr dlc cause it isn't really a canon
8 ucn reason the jumpscares aren't really scary and some ones i hate
7 fnaf vr reason some of them are really hard to do
6 fnaf 6 there is dumb lawsuits and u doin't get paid as much
5 fnaf 4 the game is crazy scary but its a good then ttho but night 5 with nightmare fredbear manhic looks way to hard
4 fnaF 3 THE PHATHOMS ARE SO ANOYING THERE IS A VENT SYSTEM AND A ERROR STUFF
3 fnaf 2 the wrost ones are withered bonnie idk why people like him mangle is so anoying
and i won't forget bb STAY AWAY FROM THE DOBULE a BATTIRES
2 sistler location the only anoying thing is funtime foxy and the minireinnas
1 THE GOAT FNAF 1
