man donated to the trevor project, i dont care what his political opinions were, hes helped more than you have for sure. coming from a trans person (whos been out for almost a decade now) youre entire argument hinges on this idea that his political opinions are denying trans folk rights, when he has obviously shown he does not believe in it, yeah he got sucked into the far right BS about lowering taxes n ♥♥♥♥, but that does not mean i shouldnt support someone. politics are not a defining characteristic of anyone, and should be left at that
as to all those who WOULD ♥♥♥♥ on trans people, its a medical condition, we cant control it, it isnt a choice, if you disapprove then thats your problem, but PLEASE do not target trans youth, ive seen too many of us die to suicide already, and the suicide rates for us are skyrocketing with trumps presidency, to harass us is paramount to assisting homicide or even murder itself. i ask not for you to accept us, or to tolerate us, but if nothing else allow us to live, we are not here for your children, or for a political reason, we are not intentionally assaulting your values, moral, philisophical or religious, we simply wish to live, there are less than 1-2% of us in any given country, and this value cannot change due to the risk of the genetic mutation that theoretically made us this way, we have always been here, and no matter what you do we will persist indefinitely, the only thing you can control is how much we suffer do to the choices of others and the unfounded hate that has been fed to you by our leaders, we are americans and humans, exactly like you.
to those that would defend us, i cannot thank you enough, one of the few things that keeps me sane is knowing you all exist, even if it is to a smaller degree than i hope for, it is an inspiring and beautiful thing to see people who do not understand our condition and will never experience it still try to fight for us, you have not let humanity, or the trans community down, ignore the trolls in these places, we will persist because of you, and perhaps given time we will thrive, i cannot express my gratitude in words.
as for those that sit on the sidelines watching this unfold, such inaction only breeds distrust and hate, do not allow an entire minority to fade back into obscurity and suffer for years once more, we need your help, even if you dislike us as a concept, we do not ask this of you, we ask that you simply save trans lives by simply coexisting with us, you can save millions of childrens lives by simply not harassing them, and thousands more by assisting them, this is especially true for parents of those children.
