Guide to Surviving Fnaf
This is a nearly complete guide of surviving Five Nights at Freddy's, other than story, because a bunch of forum posts probably covered that, I'm here for the gameplay. There are actually 6 nights, 5 animatronics, 99% power, 8:36 minutes, 3 Tools, and 12 areas. Let's get started.

MECHANICS:
There are 5 Mechanics I will talk about in FNAF. You have to take advantage of them with a cool head to survive.
POWER:
Power is a vital resource. You start with 99% and slowly drain 1 per 9-10 seconds, because of the light that illuminates your office and fan. Every other Tool you use drains your power faster. If you have 2 Tools active, it will drain 1 per 5-6 seconds, if you have 3, it will drain 1 per 4 seconds, and if you have 4, which is the max, it will drain 1 per 2-3 seconds. If you run out of power, the room will be dark for a while. Then after about 5-8 seconds, Freddy will appear at your left door, and play a jingle. If you move, he will likely stop it short. Then after a few more seconds, he attacks. You can still survive if it turns 6am before he kills you. Remember to not overuse your tools.

CAMERA:
The Camera is used to see where the animatronics are. There are many areas in Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, so be sure to be familiar with them. Cameras can be disabled, and are a bit blurry. Be sure to not use it too much, because of power.

HALL LIGHTS:
Hall Lights are for checking your doors where your camera can't see. They check if Bonnie or Chica is directly outside. Be sure to not overuse them. It is possible to scare off animatronics if you keep the lights flickering. There are 2 openings, doors, and hall lights.

DOORS:
Doors are your emergency line of defense. If Foxy is sprinting toward you, or if someone is at your door, then it would be right to close them. They drain power, so don't overuse them out of fear/paranoia. Reserve them when you are in extremely grave danger. You can check the lights to see their shadow to know if they're still there.

TIME:
Time is also a vital mechanic. You have to work 6 hours, which is really just 1:25-1:30 minutes long each. Do not get caught in your work hours. You should have about 82-87% power at 1 AM, 65-70% at 2 AM, 48-53% at 3 AM, 29-34% at 4 AM and 15-20% at 5 AM. Remember to compare how much power your using and how much time you have left.

AREAS:
There are 12 areas in Five Nights at Freddy's. I will give a brief explanation for each of them.

THE OFFICE: This is where you are, don't let anything get into your office. It is in between the West and East Hall Corners at the Southernmost part of the building. The closer the animatronics are to the Office, the more danger you are in.

SHOW STAGE: The Show Stage is where Bonnie, Chica, and Freddy start. It is in northernmost part of the building, so they are quite far away. If someone is gone, they most likely have gone to the Dining Area. Threat Level: 1/10

DINING AREA: The Dining area is south of the Show Stage. It is lined with tables and chairs. The 3 Animatronics from the stage can all access this area.
Accessible by Bonnie/Chica/Freddy Threat Level: 2/10

BACKSTAGE: Only Bonnie can enter the Backstage. It is West of the Dining Area, so you generally aren't in a lot of danger if Bonnie is there. Sometimes, Bonnie can give a menacing white eyed stare into the camera that is terrifying.
Accessible by Bonnie Threat Level: 2.5/10

PIRATE'S COVE: This is where Foxy starts and hopefully spends most of his time inside. It is south of the Dining Area so it's kind of close, and there is a moderate distance between you and Foxy. Foxy will usually be behind the curtain, but will slowly emerge if you don't check this place enough. So check if occasionally. If Foxy has fled the Pirate's Cove, then you must close the door immediately for you are in grave danger if he has fled.
Accessible by Foxy Threat Level: 7.5/10

SUPPLY CLOSET: Only Bonnie can enter here. It is very small, so you should be able to see if Bonnie is there. It is West of the West Hall.
Accessible by Bonnie. Threat Level: 4/10

WEST HALL: This is one of the main routes where the animatronics will come for you. Bonnie will come in through here, and Foxy will sprint down here. Be sure to check it often for the awareness of where the Animatronics are can be the difference between Life, and Painful Death. It is south of Pirate's Cove
Accessible by Bonnie/Foxy Threat Level: 7/10

WEST HALL CORNER: This is the absolute last spot the camera can see before your office.
If Bonnie is there, then you should be very wary of this spots, for a few seconds of not keeping an eye here can be a difference between life and death.
Accessible by bonnie/Foxy Threat Level: 8.5/10

RESTROOMS: Restrooms are East of the Dining Area, where Chica and Freddy will wander. It is still quite far away from the Office, so you can relax if someone is there.
Accessible by Chica/Freddy Threat Level: 3.5/10

KITCHEN: You cannot see into the Kitchen, but you can hear it. Chica will make clanking sounds if she is there, and Freddy will play his song. It is south of the Dining Area. A little closer, but not that big of a threat.
Accessible by Freddy/Chica Threat Level: 4.7/10

EAST HALL: This is directly south of the Dining Area, and there is 1 more room between this one. Chica comes here, and Freddy comes here. If you see Freddy in the Corner, frequently check here, for checking him too much back there might cause him to attack. It's better to check other rooms like this one to see if he is there.
Accessible by Chica and Freddy Threat Level: 6.5/10

EAST HALL CORNER: This is directly east of your office, and Freddy will stare menacingly into the camera if he is there. Freddy will give no warning if he's about to strike, so try to know where is is at all times. Freddy is very dangerous here and can strike anytime. Chica will sometimes come here.
Accessible by Chica/Freddy Threat Level: 9.5/10

THE ANIMATRONICS
The Animatronics are your worst enemy, other than the power. They are out to kill you by painfully stuffing you into a suit, as you are but an endoskeleton that needs a costume to them. I will give an in depth description of all of them. If they have moved to another area, you will hear footsteps.

FREDDY FAZBEAR:
ACTIVE NIGHT 4+
Freddy is the ringleader, host, and lead singer of the crew. For the first 3 nights, he is no threat. He will only come in the dark if you run out of power. He will remain in the Show Stage most of the time for those nights. But from Night 4 on, it changes radically. He will leave quickly, and will wander in this order: Show Stage-Dining Area-Restroom-Kitchen-East Hall-Easthall Corner. Freddy, as the star of the pizzeria, is extremely dangerous and unpredictable. He rarely backtracks or wanders unlike Chica or Bonnie, so if he is in the East Hall, it's hard to make him leave it. He usually hides in the dark, where only his glowing eyes can be seen. He can also seemingly teleport into your room. If you unnecessarily close both of your doors, he can still attack you. In the kitchen, you can hear the Toreador Music Box tune, and when he moves, you can hear a slow and ominous laugh. He can be blocked off if you closed the right door which he normally goes in when looking at the camera. You should keep a close eye on Freddy as he is severely slowed the more you look at him.

BONNIE THE RABBIT:
ACTIVE NIGHT 1+
Bonnie the rabbit is the guitarist. He is the most active on earlier nights and appear at your door often, but leaves quickly. He enters through the left door. He starts off at the Show Stage with Freddy and Chica, but he has one special abilities. He can temporarily disable the cameras for about 5 seconds, and while they're disabled, he can teleport wherever he pleases. The places where he can go from farthest to nearest to The Office is Show Stage-Dining Area-Back Stage-Supply Closet-West Hall-West Hall Corner. Check your hall lights immediately if the cameras are disabled, because he can be there already. He leaves quickly if he's blocked off. However, if he gets in, he can disable the left doors and lights, and in Night 5+, they won't repair. If he gets in, the next time you close the camera, he will attack you and it will be game over. Also, while you're using the camera and he's inside, he can make groaning noises to let you know he's there. If you do, don't close the camera.

CHICA THE CHICKEN/DUCK:
ACTIVE NIGHT 1+
Chica is the other singer. She isn't as active as Bonnie or even Foxy at later nights, but she is still a threat. She doesn't show up at the door as often and usually isn't the first to leave. She follows the same route as Freddy: Show Stage-Dining Area-Restrooms-Kitchen-East Hall-East Hall Corner. She makes clanging noises at the kitchen as if Pots and Pans are being battered about. She comes in through the Right Door. You can see her through the window unlike Bonnie. Though she doesn't show up as often, she makes up for it by lingering there much longer than Bonnie would. Chica can also shut off the right doors and lights if she snuck in, and if she does, it's very dangerous because of Freddy. Freddy can also use her as a distraction to make you think she is more dangerous than Freddy, and if Chica is in the same room as Freddy, he is invisible.

FOXY THE PIRATE FOX:
ACTIVE NIGHT 2+
Foxy is unlike any other animatronic. Foxy is seemingly inactive, but that is far from it. He comes in through the left door, and starts in the Pirate's Cove. He starts off hiding behind it's curtains. He exists to make sure you don't camp the lights and actually use the camera, because if you check him too much or too little, he will slowly emerge. If he is peeking out of the curtain, then it has started. If you continue to be reckless with watching Foxy, he will emerge from the curtain, but you can still see his eyes and outline. Be very wary, because he can start sprinting from any second now. If you continue to be reckless, then he will be completely gone from the cove, and if you look at the West Hall, he is SPRINTING down the hall. From the time you see he is gone and when he gets to you, the window of time where you can react is very short. If you see that he is gone, then close the left door and look at the West Hall. He will bang on the door, and go back to Pirate's Cove, once again hiding. If you continue to trigger him, he will drain 1% of your power the 2nd time, and 5% more each time. So check him occasionally, but not too much, I suggest once every 3 times you put up the camera.


GOLDEN FREDDY:
Golden Freddy isn't a normal animatronic, and is a lot like an Easter Egg. If you check West Hall Corner, and you see Golden Freddy, and you put down the camera, he will be at your room. After a few seconds, he will kill you and possibly crash the game. This happens more likely the 3rd or 1st night but still possible any night. If he is in your room, just put up the camera again, and he will vanish.

Nights:
The 1st Night:
This Night, only Bonnie and Chica are your worries. They only start moving in 2-3am, and don't show up often. There is a long window of time between where you can close the door, and when they get in. Foxy is not active unless you do absolutely nothing for a very long time, but new players usually dont do that.

The 2nd Night
This Night, the difficulty immediately ramps up. Bonnie and Chica leave the stage earlier, and show up at your door more often. This night introduces Foxy, and many new players are caught off guard by that. Foxy will become active if you do nothing by the time the Phone Guy is done talking.

The 3rd Night
This Night, Bonnie and Chica are much harder to catch, and Foxy has been changed so if you look at him too much, he becomes more aggresive. Freddy also becomes active this night, but isn't a threat. The most he will likely go to is the Dining Area, but that's no reason to be not worried.

The 4th Night
This Night is a huge difficulty spike that really tests your skills. Freddy and Foxy are equally as active as Bonnie and Chica. Foxy is unpredictable and hard to deal with because of the exact frequency on how much you should look at him.

The 5th Night
This Night is the hardest for normal play. If Freddy reaches the East Corner, don't look at him more than twice in a row, that will provoke him to attack. Also, check Foxy frequently, he is extremely active. There is a very small window of time before Bonnie and Chica sneak in, so frequently check the lights. If freddy makes it to the corner, and you hear his laugh, close the right door whenever you look at the camera. If Freddy got in, you will hear a louder laugh. He won't attack immediately after you put down the camera unlike Bonnie and Chica, but will do it shortly after for added shock and surprise

you forgot a detail though Bonnies ability is teleport, Bonnie was origonaly supposed to be foxy but instead of sharing abilities Bonnie can teleport to any room

really helps.
but i still dont get the bonnie part.i spotted him at the west hall,and then he disable my camer,so i close the camer and turn on the light as you said but then i saw him learn out from the left door,then the light and the door controll of the left is gone...but im still alive...and he's gone,didnt came in and kill me.
and about chica
so she dont have any special ability actually?what shall we do when spotted she walking at the kitchen?

I did say he can teleport. "He can temporarily disable the cameras for about 5 seconds, and while they're disabled, he can teleport wherever he pleases" Ctrl-F it.
Another thing is Bonnie can disable the camera and both of them can move, but Bonnie teleports, because he goes around faster, because they can't move while you're looking at them.

Freddy can be active early as Night 3 if you don't watch him.

People report Foxy looking at you on Night 1 and AI 0 and I think I've seen it myself.

Checking the corners isn't life and death, checking the lights is life and death, they can get in when the lights flicker even for a split-second.

Ok so im on night five and the first to move is ALWAYS Chica and bonnie and Freddy move right after. So in this case how do I save power if Freddy,Bonnie,Chica,Or both Bonnie and Chica are at my door.

But does anyone know if any of the characters move without making noise.
And also, that noise I usually hear when I pull out the camera is just the camera right? Does it mean that someone is moving?

Here are a couple of tips:
1: The lights/doors NEVER come back on, once they go out, You're dead. Doubly so if the left door is disabled, as your line of defence against Foxy is gone.
2: Chica/Bonnie can and will pull down your moniter and kill you if you don't pull it down yourself.
3: Golden Freddy is most likely to be triggered on Night 3.
4: Freddy is capable of mavment on Night 3, but he generally doesn't move that far from the Dining Room.
5: Freddy will only move if both Chica and Bonnie leave the Stage.

What many people don't know is with enough luck and timing, you can stun-lock Freddy on the stage, so he never moves through nights 1-6. Just check Pirate's Cove, then quickly check the show stage, then back to Pirate's Cove each time you check the camera.

I found that Foxy in fact DOES poke his head out on the 1st night BUT isn't any threat unless you don't check him at least once.
