Same thing happens to me. I have tried restarting my pc and steam. Reinstalling and veryfying game cache though they don't seem to work.

Same thing here... I get a black screen, a bit of sound and then I get dumped back to the desktop. The game is still showing as running on my taskbar and if I click it I get the same thing.

Same problem here. Tried all solutions Steam offers for "game troubleshooting," and none worked. Guess it's time to figure out how to get a refund. Ha!

I found the solution in another thread... if you can call it that.

Set your desktop resolution to 1280x720 and it'll launch fine. If you don't want to do that, once it minimizes click it on the taskbar and quickly start mashing ALT+ENTER. That'll force it to come up and run windowed, but it ruins a bit of the ambiance.

It looks like the 1280x720 switch is the best thing to do for now. :(

Basically if your pc doesn't have at least 1gb of graphical memory or aren't running on XP, Vista or 7, the game will not work.

I have two gigs of memory on my graphics card and am running Windows 7. I've tried it on my desktop (which has an Nvidia video card) and my laptop (which has an ATI video card) and the same thing happened each time.

The problem appears to be in how the game handles launching in a resolution that's different from what it's running, at least on my systems.

I tried this and it worked.

It is pretty shocking that a game can be release nowadays and not have support for 1920x1080 resolution.

SOLUTION FOUND: Some programs can interfere with FNaF such as Adobe Creative Cloud, I recommended to close or uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud and then try running FNaF it should work, though if you don't have Adobe Creative Cloud or you have disabled it and FNaF is still not working i'm not to sure but try uninstalling or close stuff that might interfere with it!
