The Bureau of Labor has a really good inflation calculator which I hope other agencies of the world adapt for their own currencies : http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm
We'll put the first date as 1987 since Mike's predecessor mentioned the 'Bite of '87', an event obviously a few years old (but, since inflation has kept rising ever since and I want a large estimate, I chose the closest date possible). The second date will be 2014. Results: 241.77$.
Considering Mike works 6 hours per night for 5 nights, that's a total of 30 hours or 8.05$ an hour! Barely above minimum wage. There are two more nights where he receives a bonus, I don't remember the extra pay though.
Personally, I prefer the theory that the game takes place after 2087 - hence the Bite of '87 happened in 2087, not 1987. A dystopian future is the only era in which someone would be desperate enough to guard killer robots for minimum wage.
More like in the 90's but would still be a ridiculous pay for this job, and even more with the "bonus" of .50 cent at the 6th night. I would definitivly have bailed half way through the first night even for a decent pay XD
Kind of a ♥♥♥♥ move.
Below minimum wage for that job... yeah.
