Don't die.

...oh, and use your camera only to spy on foxy, and the right hall.

i did infact i've tried to beat night five about 20 times already and i've used that strategy, opening and closing doors to save power, yet when by the time i reach 2 am it's pretty much at like, 50% power. and when i do get a good run i mess up and get killed or screwed over by a door jam.

Check Freddy on the stage

Use the 4/20 strategy. It should work every time.

I adjust it a bit to avoid stuff-ups, so what I do is I don't close the right door when opening the camera at the start, and I wait until I hear either a close laugh, or the third laugh, before I start closing it. If you hear Freddy in the kitchen, you don't need to close the door until you hear him laugh and the music box stops, where it's best to be safe than sorry so start closing the doors.

Every once in a while, you can check CAM 4B to check where Freddy is. If he's not there, you should be good to stop using the door until the next laugh. If Chica's there, continue closing the door, as when Freddy and Chica are in CAM 4B, only Chica's image will be displayed as Chica has dominance over Freddy in this case. When checking CAM 4B, always return to CAM 1C for Foxy. CAMs 1C and 4B are the only cameras you need to check. Do not check any other cameras, and switch to 1C immediately at the start of the night.

Also, the key to this is speed. You don't want to spend too long camera flipping, switching cameras, and moving the mouse to click the doors and lights. A lot of it relies on muscle memory, so have a few games getting yourself familiar with where everything is, and gradually increase the speed of how you play.

That's the exact strategy I've been using and it always fails. I'm quick enough, but it just somehow doesn't work.

Also use your lights sparingly. Make sure they don't stay on, and don't turn them back on after checking the door. Something I see a lot of people do is they check the light, open/close the door depending on if Bonnie/Chica is there or not, and then they check the light again. If you're doing that, don't. It'll be a quick flick with the light, so you need to be watching carefully. You don't want to lose too much power.

Generally, on Night 5 and onwards, it will be a close call power-wise. The past few times I've beaten Night 5, I've done it with 1-4% remaining. Night 6 and 7 will most likely cut you down to a power-out, in which you have to hope that Freddy will take his time.

If possible would you be able to send a video of what you're doing? Because if you're doing all of this and still failing, then there may be something else wrong with what you're doing.

A few people here have provided good strategies. Actually, there are multiple ways to beat this night.

---

My favorite strategy is this: switch to Cam 4B right away. Then, check Cam 4B after checking both doors. After every 5 cycles of doing this, close both doors (or just the right door if you feel safe from Bonnie) and check on Foxy in Cam 1C. Then, switch back to Cam 4B before dropping the monitor. Then, check both doors before opening them and start the whole process over again.

If Foxy is in Stage 1 or Stage 2 (i.e. he's not visible or he's partially hidden behind the curtain), check on him every 5 cycles. If Foxy is in Stage 3 (i.e. he's ready to run to your office), check on him every 3 cycles. If he's in Stage 4 (i.e. he's left the Pirate Cove), switch to Cam 2A to trigger his sprint and then switch to Cam 4B before dropping the monitor.

This technique is called "camera-stalling." This is a method that prevents an animatronic from coming to the office by keeping the monitor focused on them whenever you must use it. Freddy will only come in to the office if you view a camera different from Cam 4B or switch off Cam 4B to a different camera while the right door is open. If you keep the camera on Cam 4B, Freddy can't go anywhere. Since he also can't come in while the monitor is down, you don't need to close the right door unless you want to check another camera (e.g. Cam 1C).

As for Foxy, he actually can't move while the monitor is up unless he's already left Pirate Cove. Thus, viewing any camera will keep Foxy from attacking, so there's no need to get off Cam 4B unless you want to check on his state. According to a few people who have decompiled the game, Foxy has a randomized cooldown time of about 1-17.5 seconds after the monitor is dropped. This explains why Foxy is aggressive in some nights but not in others. Still, the strategy listed above allows for frequent camera checks, which will slow down Foxy while you take care of Bonnie and Chica.

This strategy also works for Night 6 and 4/20 mode, though you'll have to flip up the monitor between each door check instead of flipping it up after both door checks.

You could even take it a step further and check only the left hall light because Chica will show up on Cam 4B before she attacks. When she shows up, start checking the right light, too.

---

Alternatively, you can just set the monitor on Cam 1C and close the right door before you check it. Then, drop the monitor, check the right hall light, open the right door, and check the left hall light. Repeat the process. BigBug and Markiplier used this strategy to be the first two people to beat 4/20 mode. This strategy repeatedly pushes Freddy away, but it uses it quite a bit more power than necessary, so I wouldn't recommend it.

---

A third strategy is to switch between Freddy and Foxy on the cameras after checking the doors. I like to do it like this: check Freddy, check Foxy, and check Freddy again. Alternatively, you can switch to Foxy every few cycles. You can do this method at any camera that Freddy's in except Cam 4B, where you may accidentally let him in when you switch to Foxy on the monitor. Keeping Freddy at Cam 1A is easiest because Cam 1A is very close to Cam 1C on the monitor. That, and Freddy is too far away to do anything there. Keeping Freddy at Cam 1B also works very well.
---

Do whatever strategy feels comfortable for you.
