Five Nights at Freddy's

Multiple Springtraps/Afton's/Purple Guys
So, currently, in the "Super Custom Night" roster, if you look closely, you can see TWO Springtraps: one of them being the classic, original one: FNAF 3 version, with Purple Guy's rotting corpse inside. However, among the others, is the "Springtrap" from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria Simulator, named William Afton. Already, there were some 'obvious' differences, but as Scott currently shows these two as seperate entities, we might have to completely rework some of the lore.

While the Multiple Purple Guy theory is finally proven thanks to Sister Location, showing one "Shadow" purple guy, William Afton, the killer, and the "Real" Purple guy, Micheal Afton, this begs the question: are there multiple Springtrap/Spring Bonnie suits with corpses in them? Careful analysis actually leads to a surprising answer.

In the Sister Location ending, we can hear Micheal talking. He says that he "is going to come find you", refering to his father William. After the monologue, Springtrap pops out, visibly damaged. Now, Micheal was talking about that he was supposed to be dead, that they mistook "me for you". This could, of course, refer to what happened in Sister Location...

But, he also says he "put them back together". Maybe, this Micheal, is talking after being forced in a Spring Bonnie suit, all the way back to the FNAF 3 minigames at each end of the night. In the last night, we see Purple Guy cornered by the vengefull spirits, and fleeing inside a suit. Many, among myself, thought this was (who later became known as) William Afton, but ended up brutally murdered by the spring locks.

Now, with two Springtraps roaming around, this could very well be untrue. What we see in FNAF 3, could be the accidental death of Micheal. William, on the other hand, who possesed another suit, was lured to the "maze with no prize".

Another way of supporting this theory, is the fact that the Springtrap from Sister Location was named "Springtrap 2" in the files. Of course, this could be because his appearance has changed, but we know Scott: he doesn't leave clues without careful planning.

The true question is: who do we play against in FNAF 3? Is it the accident-prone Micheal, or the vengefull William? All sources point to Micheal, but why would he try to kill us, the night-guard? Other theorists have claimed that the night-guard in FNAF 3 is possibly the Crying Child from FNAF 4 (darn, so many game hopping...), trying to expose the truth on what happened to his Father and Brother.

Unless... He doesn't try to kill us. His jumpscares are not... Really scary? The phantoms lunge at you, scream in your face, mess with systems, much like the others, who try biting, screaming and jumping. Springtrap, on the other hand, slowly walks towards you, and both jumpscares (left and right) have some kind of emotion to it.

In the left side, you can see Springtrap walking towards you, and at the end, raising his eyebrows, looking straight at you, in some kind of surprise, a way of saying "you here?". The right side shows a even more 'friendly' version, the movements appear to apply to some kind of "Hello!" or, maybe even, "It's me!".

Not really the things a killer would show, something more of... a older brother, reunited with his little brother he has forgotten.

I rambled on with a lot of things, and this might be incomprehensible. Who knows. Maybe Scott himself could clear this up? Maybe I was just making thousands of mistakes, based on nothing but speculation.

Or maybe, just maybe, this can uncover a new layer.

(Probably not, just a senile young man rambling about a video game)

custom night isn't canon

besides, that would mean the withereds and the classics aren't the same animatronics, nor are baby and scrap baby the same either

and, scott has gone on record to say that the one inside springtrap is indeed william, saying that game theory was correct about "Willtrap" in a reddit post
