Saves erased

My saves were erased for some magical and mysterious reason. Am I the only one experiencing this issue?

As I was fighting what I assume is the 2nd phase of the last boss the game crashed. The only time that's occured. Nbd, wasn't doing that great anyways. Loaded up and now all of my saves are gone too. After shouting at my monitor for a few minutes, I'm now looking for a way to fix it. If it can't be fixed, I'm going to just give up on the game. I'll post if I find anything.

The author takes 12 meandering paragraphs to say "Find the save location" and doesn't mention that it'll ONLY work if you happen to be making frequent Windows backups. If you do, though, you can get your save back. Otherwise it seems we're Sh*t out of luck.

Pretty disapointing.

I guess my next step would be to try and find a save file that someone has generously put up on the interwebs that's at the last stage. At this point I just want to fight the last boss and see the ending, but there's no way I'm doing it over again.

I am really unhappy because I was so far through the game and then my save game is just gone. Seems like it randomly corrupts files. So I have to play through the whole game again or just move on, which sucks because I really like this game.
