Will the game work on Steam Deck?


Technically, yes! The game includes a native Linux build for the Steam Deck, so you won’t need Proton to run it. However, it’s not officially supported. The game is designed for mouse and keyboard, so while joystick controllers aren’t compatible, you can use the trackpad and triggers to simulate a mouse.

Can I get a key as a streamer?

Will the game support a vertical layout?

Not at the moment. The game relies heavily on horizontal pixel art assets, and my experience with vertical layouts hasn’t been ideal. To ensure the best possible experience, the game currently supports only horizontal layouts with a resizable window mode.

How can I move placed items to a new location?

You can now move placed items! Simply click on the Move/Delete button, then select the Move option. This allows you to reposition the item without losing any gold. If you no longer need the item, you can also use the Delete option to remove it and receive 50% of its original cost back.

How do I enable Dock Mode?

To enable Dock Mode, simply go to the settings menu and check the "Dock Mode” checkbox.

I think I’ve found an issue with localization. How can I report it?

How does Twitch integration work with the game?

As a streamer, you can set up Twitch integration by following these steps:

1. Log in to Twitch via the game:
   
   • Go to the Settings menu.
     
   • Click the “Open Twitch Settings” button.
     
   • Enter your Twitch username in the text field and click the Login button.
     
   • A browser window will open, prompting you to approve the required permissions.
     
   • Once approved, close the browser window, and you’re all set to use the Twitch functionality!
2. Engage your Twitch chat:
   
   • Ask your viewers to type !baobaocommands in the chat. This will display a list of commands they can use during the stream.
     
   • The game prioritizes active chatters and randomly selects users from the past 5 minutes of activity. The chosen chatter's name will be assigned to a panda in the game.
     
   • Chatters whose names are assigned to pandas can use panda-specific commands. Additionally, any chatter can trigger a cat meow sound during the stream for added fun!
     
   • To make sure all the chatters are getting opportunity to be a panda, the game resets the panda names every 2 minutes. This also acts as a way to remove inactive chatters.

Is there controller support in the game?

The game has very limited controller support—so minimal that it’s not officially considered as such. For the best experience, we recommend playing with a mouse and keyboard.

I don’t hear washing machine sounds. Is there a way to enable them?

Yes! You can zoom into the area by clicking the “+” button. This brings the washing machines and dryers closer, allowing you to hear their sounds.

I spent several hours on the demo. Will I be able to use my save file in the full release?

Yes! The game will use the same save file from the demo. All the money you’ve earned (upto 100,000 gold coins) and the machines you’ve unlocked will carry over to the full release version, so you can pick up right where you left off.

I’m seeing an error about a corrupted save file. What should I do?

Starting from version v0.0.0.77, the game includes an experimental backup system designed to help recover corrupted save files. This system automatically creates a backup at regular intervals, separate from the normal save function. While this feature has been successful in our internal tests, please note that it is still experimental and may not work in every situation.

Save file corruption can occur for various reasons, such as closing the game during a save operation, which can interrupt the process and damage the file, or manually modifying save file data, which may cause unexpected issues. While the game includes safeguards to prevent most cases of corruption, some scenarios fall outside of its control.

We appreciate your understanding, and if you encounter any issues, please consider restoring a backup or reaching out for assistance.

There should be a backup file for your game already. You should be able to find your backup file in these folders
Mac - /Library/Application Support/com.DestroyerDoggo.BaoBao/saves/
Windows - C:/Users/youraccount/AppData/LocalLow/DestroyerDoggo/BaoBao's Cozy Laundromat/saves/

Step 1: Close the game.
Step 2: From the folders mentioned above, you can rename the SomeWeirdNumber.save-backup file to SomeWeirdNumber-Save.save file. And then run the game. DO NOT CHANGE the number, just rename the post extension part. You might need to delete the old save file (not the backup file). For now just rename it to something else.
Step 3: Restart the game

What matters most is that you’re part of this community. You can help by sharing the game on Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, or whatever social platform you prefer to spread the word. If the price is a concern, don't worry—the game costs less than a cup of coffee, and Steam often has sales. You’ll be able to get it when it’s more affordable for you!

Do you plan to release the game on other platforms, like Xbox or PlayStation?

Currently, the game is only available on PC (Mac and Windows). However, if there’s enough demand for idle cozy games on Xbox or PlayStation, I might consider porting it. As for the Nintendo Switch, I’ve sent numerous emails to Nintendo about getting devkits in India, but unfortunately, they don’t have a registered entity here. Their solution is either relocating to another country or finding a publisher elsewhere.

Usually Steam Deck Verification happens automatically by Steam once a game has sold certain amount of copies. But due to the nature of the game, I might not end up supporting right away. If you have a steam deck, you might want to use the keyboard and mouse layout, and then use trackpad to move the mouse along with left and right triggers to simulate left and right click functionality from a mouse. Alternatively, you can use touch screen on your steam deck to perform a lot of operations.

Is a cute game so far. Might make a small suggestion though that the ironing board should be on the panda for hire screen. I wouldn't have known it even did anything where it was if I didn't see it on the forum. Placing it on the same tab as the hiring would make it easier to find and figure out.

Yes, I am currently working on it. But the look and feel of it is not there yet. Once I have something good, I will be able to update it in a future build.

You can only zoom out to a certain amount. You can do that by using +/- buttons
