Shotgun feedback
I love a good shotgun in video games. Unfortunately, the shotguns in this game do not feel good. Here are some of the problems I have with the shotguns.

Movement speed. This is probably the biggest problem. Shotguns are lightweight and should have fast movement speed to compensate for their limited range to allow for a fast and aggressive play style. Instead, the Mossberg 500 modded for maximum mobility is still one of the slowest weapons in the game, and one modded for range/killability feels like you're barely moving. I shouldn't be choosing to run up to enemies unarmed and switching to the shotgun when I'm close. Making shotguns have slow movement speed is baffling and makes them a novelty.
Range/spread. Shotguns should be able to reliably one-shot kill at center mass within the range of a room. I shouldn't have to shove my shotgun in an enemy's face to get the kill. At anything beyond 10ft, shotguns are just a hitmarker generator. The double barrel in particular should reliably one-shot at moderate distances.
Slugs. Why do these have the same range as buckshot? I should be able to pop enemies at a distance like a rifle with these instead of the bullet disappearing after a few feet. They are absolutely worthless and feel awful.

Shotguns precariously ride the risk-reward line more than other types of guns, but with these factors they're mostly risk with little reward. I hope more shotguns are added to the game and that they end up feeling good to use, but as it is they simply are not viable and I never use them unless I'm just messing around.

I only used them because i wanted all guns on max level. The worst with the shotguns in my opinion is that they shoot cannonballs at close range, but feels like they shoot confetti beyond 15m. The current shotguns are completely useless.

I feel like the Citori especially suffers. It's 2 shots, it often takes 2 shots to kill even at close range, even with damage increases, unless the opponent has literally no armor at point blank range.

The mossberg can at least mulch low level AI indoors, but even the P220 does that better, even with no attachments.

Either the shotguns need faster reloads and faster fire rates (Maybe a full auto shotgun would be good?) OR a solid range increase. Maybe slug ammo as an option?

I'm with Lawrence in that I only use the shotguns because they have attachments tied to them (Grips and such) and I want every gun maxed out. But while I'd consider using ANY gun as my starter (the one gun I bring in when starting a run), I'd never take a shotgun as my "starter" gun. Ever. It's WAY too risky and the handful of times I did that when I first started, I found myself scrambling to find LITERALLY anything else. Even the M500, and that gun also really sucks. But I'd rather have to do an M500 start for 100 games in a row than play 10 shotgun starts.

And the Citori being the same price as a P220 which is arguably one of the best guns in the game right now? Like, A decked out P220 costs almost nothing, and it can quite literally become your "forever starter" because of it's high movement speed, great range, great accuracy, great recoil control, and cheap attachments.

The ONLY thing keeping the P220 from being literally the best gun is that it doesn't have ammo III (Or any ammo upgrades at all). That's it.

And it shares it's price with the :shit:ing CITORI of all things.

And the CItori only 500 less than a full on assault rifle that can solo bosses without breaking a sweat?

It's like the dev hates 3 things: Women, Shotguns, And music. That's the 3 games this game really flops at representing.

i run a mossy with max speed and throwing knives setup, it easily clears even the gold ad guys in the tower etc, knive will break shields instantly for easy quick shotgun tap or vice versa, aside from that ye, shotguns are dogwater and not worth the hassle
