right clicking is useless and annoying

Nubby is always pointed at the mouse pointer, so what's the point of clicking the right mouse "to aim"? It's ergonomically really bad to hold down the right button while clicking the left button.

To make it so you don't accidentally click something you don't mean to. I personally think it's quite nice, so I don't misclick while looking at the board or when I have to tab out. I DO think it should be toggleable as a setting though.

Personally I wish every game like this let you control it this way. Though having a one-click option is good for accessibility purposes.
