Pegs Coming Back To Life

I'm doing a Mutant Tony run with 3 Cactus+, 2 Pants+, and 2 Uranium Rod+, and I'm seeing the board get cleared entirely and then 1 or 2 pegs reappear. It causes the board to not always get the full clear bonus. I'm not sure what the cause is.

Edit: On further thought, I think what's happening is that if Nubby is dead and there are no pegs alive to spawn the Uranium Rod projectiles from, the game will 'revive' a peg to spawn from.
