If I'm stuck here because I've got the "wrong" party, I think I'll just drop the game. It's a shame, I liked it (even if there were some really damage spongey enemies, which were not very fun to fight).
I never had a fight that I felt was unwinnable barring going into them massively underleveled. Revaluating My parties skills/equipment from time to time generally leads to much better performance. If your struggling try mixing it up.
I think that i've killed The Overseer within a few rounds if not just 1-2. Can't even remember this boss :)
