In the meantime, I remember focusing attacks and taking out each of the individual components 1 at a time--being careful not to do area attacks, which I believe healed the Overlord itself. Debuffs (stunning and the like) are of course very helpful. Those printer-like components...I think I at least tried to stop them before they spit out a new enemy.
If you have gear that sometimes absorbs a type of damage, that will also be helpful, as those 4 (?) guns do Fire, Chemical, Nanite, and Energy dmg--if memory serves.
No one does single-target damage like the Cyberninja, but I'm sure you know that by now. Be careful if you're using Takedown as opposed to Assassinate, when battling those 4 guns, not to hit the Overlord itself. You can tell if there are multiple targets set up for Takedown by half-choosing the option, and then looking at the enemies listed in the TU chart at the top of the screen. They will turn yellow, as in, they are being targeted.
Have lots of healing options, skills and consumables. If you have those mine crystals that give +10% dmg for the mission, pop those as well. Everything helps. Don't try to win quickly in a DPS race, though. Slow & steady wins the race.
My party is : soldier, force psyker, smuggler, hacker.
Difficulty standard, I'm level 29 and i have a lot of large medikit.
If I understand well to win I must kill the printer component before they spit out a new enemy, if you killed a spit-enemy then a new printer is generated and it's useless to strike directly the overlord, because it is invulnerabile to harm. I'm right?
My party was nearly the same, except I had a Cyberninja instead of a Force Psyker (who I had in my Team B). Look over all your active skills, and maybe try to focus on single-target dmg skills, and debuffs. An an example, in regular fights, Barrier Prison is awesome for locking down a foe, but when it ends, it explodes for AoE dmg; that might not be ideal against the Overlord. Unless the BP's pro's outweighed the con's of slight (in the grand scheme of things) healing for the Overlord. Condemn is a great FP single-target skill, but Mind Bullets will attack other targets, for example. Shattering Blow is great for minimizing high-armor targets.
Do you have the Prototype-like ally as well (I did)? That helped. The Hacker's endless viral onslaughts will be huge, especially w/ Killswitch.
It's slightly hard for me to remember my skillsets in my 1st game, b/c I'm at the end of NG+ and have all of them to choose from (LOL). You can also wait until 30th level, picking up 1 more skill for each Crawler before trying again. I presume you have a pre-mission save.
Aids: fair amount of 30% & 40% healing packs (there are times when a low-dmg dealer is better off healing a comrade on their turn); a couple of CureAlls (not 100% sure they worked when I got bad status effects); had Barkleby for a while as a companion; each PC took a crystal to gain +10% dmg. Gear that gives you high critical chances and dodge is very important!
Party: Cyberninja (highly recommended!); Hacker; Smuggler (surprised?); and Soldier. Keep in mind, my skillset won't likely be the same as yours if it's your 1st game/playthrough.
Cyberninja: (Combination) Combo Strike; Takedown; (Assassination) Assassinate; (Deception) Dash; Concealing Mist.
Hacker: (Rootkit) V: Overheat; (Malware) Logic Bomb; Killswitch; (Optimization) Hyperthread; Multicore.
Smuggler: (Dirty Moves) Flash Bang; Bag of Wonders (main reason I brought her!); (Gunslinger) Buddy Shield (never had to use it); and (now I forget) either Akimbo or Showdown (never used anyway); (Cheap Tricks) Bounty (chance to heal someone, but never got a chance to use it). After the Bag of Wonders was spent and I had used Flash Bang at least once, she became the healer for the party w/ inventory raids.
Soldier: (Tactician) Meat Shield; Juggernaut; (Demolition) Rocket Strike; (Specialist) Hot Streak; The Specialist.
Stage 1: the Printer battle; obviously focus on destroying the 1st ones to start printing. Debuffs (stuns and the like) very helpful.
Stage 2: the 4 Cannons and Overlord; destroy 1 Cannon at a time, and do your best to not directly dmg the Overlord, as that heals the weapons. If you have armor or shields that absorb certain elements (potentially), focus on cannons that don't fall into that category. Combo Strike is excellent for dogpiling dmg on a cannon, and Assassinate + good chance of critical(s) w/ your weapon should take out at least 1 cannon in the fight. Meanwhile, my Takedown #s were getting higher & higher. I tried an experiment when it was in a range of 80k-106k (to all opponents): at that point, the Overlord had ~74k hp, and the 3 remaining cannons ~105k-108k. I annihilated 1 cannon, took off 50% of the Overlord's hp, and almost 10k each from the last 2 cannons. Worth it! I should have waited for my overall #s of Takedown dmg to get even higher. But by the point it was only 1 cannon and a badly injured Overlord, another Takedown ended this stage. W/ a 1 hp but invulnerable Overlord, I healed up for the last stage.
Stage 3: (2) Gargantuan Claws and a pissed off Overlord; forget about those Claws--they had well over a million hp each, so the best you can do is try to avoid their attacks and bring down the Overlord. I gambled on getting a critical hit w/ Assassinate and that killed the Overlord.
Am I claiming only these 4 Crawlers w/ only these skills are necessary? No. But they worked for me in NG+. Avoiding attacks either through high Dodge or skills to that effect was essential to my survival I think. That, and the absolute eye-popping dmg a Cyberninja can put out.
If I had to swap out 1 PC, I might try someone other than the Smuggler. The Prototype or Force Psyker most likely, w/ the former getting the nod b/c of healing via Haiku.exe, and being able to dish out some serious pain on occasion. Maybe for NG++ on Hardcore I'll try a new 4th member.
EDIT: I didn't have Unit 9 (a Prototype-like robot) as an ally for this game's fight, b/c I was UFP.
Phase One: Only way to hurt Overlord is to damage any of its 4 Printers, which will finish self-printing/spawning an enemy in very few turns. Only way to get another Printer is to defeat the enemy it printed. As you defeat the Printers, their starting HP will lower and eventually only a single Printer will spawn.
Phase Two: Attacking Overlord will heal its Chemical, Void, Nanite, and Fire Cannons, but will[?] still harm it. Be mindful of Overlord's non-explicit elemental immunities.
Phase Three: Beyond its 6+ shields, Overlord can be directly harmed without worry. Its 2 Gargantuan Claws, which lack shields, will either grab-stun an ally with its crushing grip (doing damage every turn until >2000 damage is inflicted on the claw) or attack. Pretty sure the left is strictly the "grab" one and the right is the "attack" one.
Phases end when Overlord gets to 1HP and starts its next turn.
2) Your favorite flying drone should be down the hall on your right before proceeding towards the boss, which should be the only fight on this mission btw.
Help it out if you want an ally during the battle who'll make Phase One hella easier, Phase Two a bit more stressful, and might not make it to Phase Three. 🤷🏿♂️
It was a joy to have its company regardless, though the ending disregarded it completely in my case.
3) The Omega mission is the final mission before end credits and New Game+.
4) People in the Discussions mention a certain betrayal by Rassa (Crimson Pact), but I didn't experience it. Things played out entirely in my favor after the endboss, so I'm guessing reputation plays a hand.
