How do we beat the Housekeeper in the Good Housekeeping quest?

I am on the Good housekeeping quest for Workers United. I took the left route. I am facing the Housekeeper with lots of laser lights. First, he asked me a question which I flubbed. Now there are lots of colored laser lights and nothing to click on. HELP. I keep roaming around and he keeps summoning more bots. How do I accomplish the mission.?

If you can't solve the puzzle to battle the Housekeeper, it will eventually trigger a boss fight after sending several waves of minions at you. Keep moving about the room and trying the puzzle!

Can you say how to solve the puzzle? It is a bit too "puzzling."

I'm also finding this puzzle unnerving.
The text the AI said went away quickly so I have no idea what I'm supposed to do to begin with.
Then, I'm just waiting time running around, not being able to interact with anything. What's the point?
What does 'eventually' mean? Do I have to spend some time waiting? Moving around? Wasting real time?
I eventually found out that you CAN click on the small flying spheres spawning the light rays. Unfortunately, the game gives zero indication that it is even possible. There should be some interaction menu/highlight/text somewhere telling us that clicking will actually do something, the same you get when you want to pick up something.
