Up Button = respawn?

Hi, I just started playing Wings of Vi today and I'm already facin' an annoying problem with my 360 controller. I'm not used to play with a controller but I thought it would be the best for a game like Wings of Vi but my problem is that I hit over and over again accidentally the up button while moving and that always respawn me and I don't know why.

I changed my controller settings at the beginning of the game but somehow it keeps the respawn funktion at this position.

Is it only me havin' this problem or is it on purpose? And, what's more important, how do I change this setting?

Sorry it's not the solution to your problem but I think in a game like this it'd be wise to play with something that you're used to. Besides, I've always thought what most people say, that some games are better played with certain controllers, is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Unless it's absolutely obvious, like keyboard+mouse for strategy games or driving wheel for driving games, you can play whatever you want with whatever controller you want. It all comes down to what you're most comfortable with.

There are only a few games I play with a controller and Wings of Vi is one of those because it's more comfortable to play it by using a controller than a keyboard. I tried it and it's not what I've expected. Maybe someone else has an idea how to fix/change my problem. Maybe there is a game file where I can change something or another way?

Ich personlich musste Meinen XBOX360-C. selber definieren
(ist eigendlich ein Plus Punkt )

Gehe zu "Option" (- da findest Du die passende Funktion) und waelle aus, welche Knopfe Du haben willst.

Meine Konfiguration (Englisch besser ):
LB-attack
RB-action

A- jump
B- back
Start- Menu
Y-Respawn

Info 1: Der L-Stick funktioniert seit denn 18 April sehr gut - was 8 angriff richtungen angeht
Info 2: Triggers sind keine Knopfe (Buttons) - man kann die nicht einsetzen
Info 3: Das Spiel hat KEINE Pausen (willst sehen, was Ich meine )

You don't really need a controller for WIngs of Vi.
I beat the game with a keyboard and even the developer plays the game with keyboard.
So if you are not used to controllers, maybe stick to the keyboard for that game. It's quite difficult after all

In 8 richtungen zu atackieren (oder dashen)- gute Arbeit.
Ich selber wurde nicht 2 Richtungstasten gleichzeitig (perfeckt) drucken.

Yeah I can imagine that this works better on a controller even if I didn't had too much of a problem.
And you can just speak english, google translator makes it harder to understand.

English is the first language you learn in school over here. And since the OP is already in english, you shouldn't worry about not being understood when speaking english since already everyone is capable to speak english
Or are you just training your german skills? I assumed you are using google translator but just noticed you didn't

I know my English isn't the best but it's enough to understand you guys so don't worry about the language. Whether it's English or German, it doesn't matter to me I'm fine with both.

Ps. My problem is solved... although I don't really know how.
I was doing the same as the day before but this time it worked.

I've set the Y-Button as my reset button and it worked after that

I was having the same problem, and the problem was with my keyboard bindings. The Up key on my keyboard was set to Respawn, and that was overriding my controllers settings somehow.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, and for anyone else that has this problem, I hope this helps.

You're supposed to be able to attack upwards too aren't you?
You're telling me you're all ok with the up button just killing you?
