Wings of Vi
How is it that the "black screen at respawn" bug still hasn't been fixed?
I find it kind of insulting that the developer is looking for funding for a new game when he's basically abandoned this one with a pretty glaring issue still intact. It's impossible for me (or anyone with a resolution that isn't strictly 16:9) to play this game in full screen because respawning just causes an infinite black screen. My screen isn't even that far off from 16:9, its native resolution is 1360x768 and it can scale to 1280x720 perfectly fine, but because of the way the game handles full screen that doesn't matter. It just seems crazy to alienate so many people who want to enjoy this game over such a ridiculous bug.

Yeah, I just encountered this too. There's no way this game's getting a positive review while this issue is still here.

This has been discussed before at length. If I recall correctly, this bug is caused by something weird in the programming language used for Vi and boarderline impossible for the dev to fix.
I agree it's a shame that this bug prevails. I don't believe the reason is the def being lazy.
Solgryn is extremely passionate about all of his games and has provided continued support and patches to the game.
Yes, it is made of spaghetti code, but apart from technical problems, it is vastly superior to pretty much any triple A game you can name, especially if you look at bosses and leveldesign.
I prefer a technically challenged masterpiece to a flawlessly programmed, but much less sophisticated design. That is just my preference though.

I can understand not being able to fix the root of the problem, but why not implement a workaround when we already know what causes it? If the game can't handle resolutions beyond 16:9, therefore breaking full screen for certain users because the game uses borderless windowed for its full screen option, then add an "exclusive" full screen option that forces the screen down to 1280x720 or 1920x1080 regardless of what the user's native desktop resolution is. This alone would be a good enough band-aid for tons of users and most games already have this option available. Is the code so bad that an option like that can't be added?
