so basic usage is to update the Frames Owned field ?
since im only at T11 i'll probably need to reduce some of the bonuses too
Yup that's about it! The "end game" of the spreadsheet is to set however many rocket parts per second you want (which you'd just input as frames owned under the "rocket" category) and then you go down the list and adjust the number of other frames you need to sustain that number of rocket parts (you need a lot of resources for the rockets).
it has some quirks, like iron ore miners being hugely over-valued, which caused major slowdowns to my production chains trying to build 400!
but overall without this sheet i probably wouldn't have bothered to finish the game.
i've prestiged once, saved the game and will probably only come back if there's an update that gives us proper consumption\production per second stats
Its not that hard to build stuff you need, check inventory what goes down and build it from bottom up. And with proper placements, its easy to just copypaste bigger blocks. But it needs patch to be worth replaying after prestige...
it being hard is not the issue
players of this genre often prefer taking a mathematical \ optimal approach to their factory building. and the game does not give you the tools to do that
using the inventory to gauge consumption fails the second you put the smallest pressure on your production chain
Example for basic widget .
You did a total prod bonus of
I did
My production checks out with my number.
There is always a doubt if a bonus is additive or multiplicative. Here it seems it was multiplicative.
Thanks! I’ll get that changed. I’m not sure why I assumed productivity was additive while quadruple checking all the speed bonuses.
Thanks for the spreadsheet!
Agreed.
The OP did say that their calculations didn't work for the power requirements. I ended up ignoring it and just kept an eye out on the inventory screen to make sure that it was keeping up.
I also added some conditional formatting to highlight when I was below the required levels so that I can more easily identify what other frames I needed to build.
Depending on what production rate you want, but the spreadsheet is pretty useful to work it out. You can plug the number into F134 cell and then work your way up the sheet. I found that I had to enter in the values even though I hadn't built that many frames. This is because the entered values then affect the rows above.
A few issues I did find was that the spreadsheet calculates the ratios really precisely but only displays the required frames to the nearest whole number. I ended modifying the formula for that column to round up to ensure that I built more than required. Of course this has flow on impacts to the upstream frames as you will need to build more of them to support the extra frames.
I ended up building extra frames than suggested to ensure that there were no bottlenecks. In the end, in order to generate 2 units / sec of rocket segment, I ended up needing north of 500 iron mines.
