I am several hours in and I can say that Barracuda is a liar.
If it's not like that, how do they make money? I'm asking as i don't know what this game is exactly. It reads like a standard single player rpg...but then i see it will be f2p.
Yes it is. So far it is like that.
Maybe I am not noticing it because I purchased the ultimate package. But I have taken a few breaks, 10 minutes here or there, and I haven't used anything out of my Ultimate package yet, other than my mount. So at least 5 solid hours of gaming. Admittedly I don't rush, I am one of those odd people if a game takes 50 hours to complete, it takes me 100. Not because I am that incompetent, but because I try crazy stuff. "You shouldn't jump off there" Hold my beer. I have to investigate every nook and cranny. Read every scrap of lore... twice. It's the way I play. But so far, nothing on the need to purchase side. I am drinking wine and Black Rifle energy drinks so I will be at this the rest of the night. Maybe I will finally see the doom everyone that does not own the Early Access keeps swearing is coming. Maybe it is down the line. Or maybe, non owners are just wrong.
I get the feeling, honestly microtransactions are certainly in the game but may be less aggressive than people think. I actually wrote about this a week ago. Want a Valyrian steel sword? Store purchase because they are rare in Ice and Fire. Or maybe when we get to the Red Keep there are a wall of microtransactions. I just know I am not getting beat to death yet. And I am saying this as a person that is a huge fan of the world of Ice and Fire - hell, I have a King of the North Edition (Damascus) Longclaw hanging on my wall and I would throw money at this game so if those required purchases were in there SO FAR and I would make them and I would tell you, yeah I bought all this stuff. But so far I am not seeing it.
Ehhhh, he is not lying.
Just because you haven't had to YET, doesn't mean that you won't have to.
As an example, you need to spend token to get loot, you have plenty for now, but once you get to the good stuff, they will run out, and you will wait, or you will pay.
Brotha, I am already there, the cockatrice is where you can see this type of behavior coming.
She's not dropping what I want, and I ran out of RP tokens. My point is proven, and you were wrong.
Currently holding it a bit on the game time if im going to refund or not cause I just don't know how playable the game will actually be without having to spend money all the time.
