Convoy
FTL-like Events/Scenario Solutions?
I heard that this game has FTL-like events and scenarios, and I saw them in a LP I watched. The only thing that concerns me is that quite a few have no way to take action in them. In FTL, you could apply certain crew with race-based prompts, or use fully systems. The video watched had a scenario involving a sandstorm, where if you dont hunker down it is an incredibly high chance to lose a vehicle (the player said 100%, but I don't know). In FTL, you might have options depending on crew or upgraded systems that could solve or mitigate that scenario.

Do the developers plan to add a similar system to Convoy? I love rogue likes, and RNG is not a problem, but that doesn't mean I don't want a sense of agency as well. Plus it makes the gameplay more immersive as well. It kind of felt like an abstract episode of Star Trek, where you use your crew and ship to solve scenarios if you could.

Thank you! Sorry if this is the wrong place.

There are currently some issues with some of the events. The devs are working on it. Some of the events are like FTL in that you have control over a meaningful decision even though the potential outcomes are not always clear. Other events are more mysterious or take control away and sometimes have harsh outcomes. It is not nearly as well balanced as FTL is in its current state. It isn't all bad but you will ocassionally be frustrated by dialog events that appear to be beyond your control.

I believe Opposing Farce means something else. He wants to know whether items or vehicles can result in an extra dialogue option. To answer the question: I haven't encountered a scenario in which this is the case. There are scenario's that can be mitigated if you have a certain amount of scrap or fuel, though.

there are some situations where you can have some effect, like giving away a man you found to the people hunting him in exchange for a particular item or choosing to skip a quest line by fighting someone you find, rather than working for them. These typically have varying results.

There are also some branching path events such as when you pick up cargo for a faction and decide what to do. Some branches will lead to additional quest locations.

The current scenario editor does not support "Blue Options"(as in FTL), where having a specific weapon, utility, vehicle or upgrade gives you an additional option that will generally be positive, and at worst neutral.

I'm a huge advocate for it. Would happily go through all the existing scenario's to add them if it does get implemented. Right now, I can't give any guarantees or when it will happen.

It would be cool just for some events, like the "Intimidating one". If I have the big railgun for my main truck, I'm pretty sure I can fire a warning shoot on the enemy, just for show (And to piss him of, too).
