I dropped nearly 2000 scrap into the 100 slot and didn't win a thing. :(
From what I could see when dumping the all my scrap in the $1, it seemed fine... It wasn't a guaranteed time-sink to get infinite money... for me.
Sleffie has the exact numbers
So if we're being shorted, we should take it out on Sleffie?
Got it! ;)
Either I'm literally the luckiest person to ever live, or those figures are wrong. I consistently hit a $20 or $50 reward on a on the $1 slots. Enough that at the end of 300 bets I broke even. That would be statistically unlikely (in the range of "no human should ever experience this luck").
Wheel of fortune is a blast , I'm trying to stock up on ballistic weapons for the low
tech achievemnt and it's helped a bit.
In the past 3 days I've done this about 4 times and ended up with infinite scrap. Only once did I actually run out of money, despite starting at ~110, which I believe was just bad luck (it was the most recent time though, so it might have been patched? though I didn't see anything to indicate that).
When I left it at $10 it would usually even out, teethering towards a loss. When I left it at $100 I would very rapidly lose money. The Wheel of Fortune is a loss on average, though not that significantly, and it is evened out by the item/vehicle rewards anyway. I didn't test the roulette extensively, but it seems like a loss.
Anyway, it seems to me that $1 slot machine is rigged.
I personally think the casino should be redesigned rather than rebalanced, though.
If you make the casino a loss on average (realistic) then a number-based person such as me will simply never touch it. I don't touch unfavourable odds, simple as that.
If you make the casino a profit on average (fun) people will exploit the fact that there's no stop to it to get infinite scrap.
If you make it neither a loss nor a gain then I guess it all comes down to how lucky people are feeling. I personally still wouldn't touch it at all, though.
Instead, I would prefer to see the minimum bet amounts go up, so that people are risking a sizeable sum ($50 at least, IMO) but make it a profit on average so there is a proper incentive. If you lose, your crew drags you out before you lose everything. If you win, you leave before you throw it away again.
Perhaps make it so you can visit each part of the casino only once though, because if only a single option is allowed I think the majority would always go for the Wheel of Fortune for the item/vehicle reward. The other options are currently really just there to get infinite money for then getting everything you need from the Wheel of Fortune.
I'm ok with that.
I already found it but had no bolts to play.
The first time was on a radio signal, the second time I got a map showing it's location after defeating a band of raiders or privateers not sure which one.
At that time I had about 1000 bolts, I spent it all and no jackpot. Is there some trick to it?
