Questions about the game
Hi
I've been eyeing the game for a while but I have some questions...How's the game's replayability etc?

Is the game worth it?Is there enough content?
And finally, I've been stuck in bed for the last 8 years and I need to play everything using the laptop touchpad and an on-screen keyboard so..Can you play with mostly just the mouse?
Honestly, the game seems right up my alley, I just hate short games and I'm trying to judge how much play time I can get from this and I don't want to buy something l can't play either...Which is why I'm asking all these stupid questions

Replayability is good IMHO, since it's a rogue-lite with permadeath, and there are many-many text events, i don't think i've seen all endings of secondary missions even though i got 100% achievement and i'm a fan of this game. So in my opinion it was worth it.
See other threads for more details.

Yeah, i think mouse-only gameplay is possible. On global map you don't need to hurry and in battles you can use pause. I don't remember if it's mapped on mouse or is it possible, but in worst case you can use some remapping software.

If you're not a fan of rogue-lites - then not sure. You can savescum though.

It's fairly replayable. The game is in the same vein as FTL, with procedurally generated elements. The map terrain, however, is always the same. It's only the locations on the map that change with each playthrough.

The random events have bonuses and penalties that are apparently 100% random in the result, even in fixed events, such as recruiting Andy or Ashley.

There are about 10 different main objectives, of which, the game picks 4 for you as you start a new game.

You'll probably blow through all the text and nothing will be new in a matter of 10 hours or so. FTL is great, but this is still good.

Yeah, but there's a difference. In FTL ships are different but mostly balanced, here some unlocked MCVs and starting vehicles are clearly better than first ones. It's fine, especially for less hardcore players - means the more you play the easier it gets.

It's only the locations on the map that change with each playthrough.
Only main quest locations and distress signals though, even camps are always in the same places. What they sell though is different.

I disagree it's pretty similar to FTL, just more often there are several outcomes. In FTL some outcomes are also dependant on chance. You can still pick the ones that give better average results.

Also those quests are non-linear, there are different ways to do each one.

Yeah, there generic events are not too numerous. But there are enough distress signal events and secondary quests and it's unlikely you'll see each one(and each of the outcomes) in 10 hours.

FTL is great, but this is still good.
Agreed, FTL for sure is a "greater" game, but this one is also fun and one of my favorites. Interesting approach. Lacks some polish, but i'm really looking forward to their next game, i guess now devs are more experienced.

Check out Blasted Road Terror BTW for more action, less text, while still similar gameplay.

The events in this game are 100% random. There is absolutely nothing you can do to sway the outcome of events.

Things like "Destruction Derby", if it was in FTL, would have an engines check. "If you have a vehicle with 80+ handing, you get the best result". Or Ashley/Andy, "If you have XXX, they join you". In this game, it's "pray to RNG if you take the risky option" no matter what

No they're not. In derby choosing Hit and run always(or most of the time?) works in your favor.
But agreed that it somewhat lacks depth due to absence of "blue events" mechanics or similar.
Is the game worth it?
I would say yes, I highly enjoyed the time I spent playing the game.
Is there enough content?
Well if there is not enough content in the main game then there is always the steam workshop, and modding tools available with download, so you can possibly just make your own content. you might not be able to upload anything you make, as I can't.
Can you play with mostly just the mouse?
I can play it with only a three button mouse, but with a laptop touchpad you would also have to press space every so often.
