Convoy
When are we going to get a game like Autoduel?
Imagine, playing a game like this but you actually plan a route on a real highway map of the USA (or another country) and do real missions. Armor points, directional weapon installations, different engines, supply and demand of component and player & NPC skills matter? You see a larger map as 1 hour of driving equals about a few seconds in real time. Every hour the computer rolls for encounters. Look up Car Wars by Steve Jackson as well as his cool 1980s era Autoduel and you will see a kick butt game with much detail in it.
You essentially design a vehicle with weight, volume and dollar constraints. When we played, I put in rarity (supply & demand) of various components as well a reliability of them as well.
This game is charming but I want a RPG based on post apocalypse.

Seen Dark Future on Steam? Haven't tried it yet and i haven't played Autoduel myself, but maybe worth a look.

TY so much for your suggestion. The game seems really good however it bugs out sometimes.
What I am really looking for is a top down Car Wars sim like this but without the clunky highway combat mechanic. There is something to be said for driving where you want to.

Agreed, i'd enjoy the game like that as well. Like a top-down Mad Max with deeper mechanics.

There's https://store.steampowered.com/app/389810
But it's pretty barebones and without an open world either.

I've been waiting for a remake of Roadwar 2000 ever since I beat the sequel like 30 years ago. That game was amazing. Not only do you have vehicle battles including crew, but also road gang management, scavenging ruins and NPC encounters.

Usually, I'm using Steam search to find game with specific features for example you could enter CAR in the search field at the top of the Steam store page then chose Roguelike in the filter narrow by tag.
