Barnacle Blast Glitch

I cannot play the Barnacle Blast game. Every time I start, the game starts to lag more and more, until the paddle and ball don't even appear to move before I get the Try Again screen. I can't play a game that's lagging that much! How do I fix this?

I have problems with the Barnacle Blast game also, playing with Linux system and using latest Proton 5.0-4. Game lags so much that it feel impossible to get through.

i wish that was the case for me the paddle thing moves way to fast ;-; to try and get the actual ball so sad cause i would potentially like to get the mermaid coin so i can carry on.

I apologize that this is a bit of a thread necro.

My mom was stuck on this minigame and was asking for my help, we weren't able to beat the minigame because the longer the game goes on the worse the control lag gets. I found a way to activate a developer menu to add the items you need to progress:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Tab + C
This will pull up the developer menu, go to the inventory tab and check off the circles next to the mermaid and shell tokens.
