December 2024: Welltris Update
The team remains hard at work on Tetris Forever, a playable celebration of Tetris released in commemoration of the popular game’s 40th anniversary. This update today includes a new playable game and player-requested features.

NEW GAME

Welltris (Spectrum Holobyte, MS-DOS)
The first follow-up to Tetris created by Alexey Pajitnov, Welltris is a beloved variant in which Tetriminos (and other shapes) fall down four sides of a well.

TETRIS TIME WARP

All players can now individually remap their controls in Tetris Time Warp, the new four-player Digital Eclipse game included in Tetris Forever that has proven to be a hit with both casual and competitive players. Control remapping was the most requested feature change from players.

WHAT'S NEXT?

It is our goal to continue to improve and expand on Tetris Forever with more games and features. The teams at Tetris and Digital Eclipse continue to explore adding new games to the collection, as well as addressing further feature requests and reported issues. The team’s next priority is to address an issue in some classic games which prevents users from saving or registering high scores, which we expect to issue a fix in early 2025.

We're also working on a larger update to Tetris Time Warp, adding a variety of new features and modes based on player feedback, which we're aiming to also release in 2025.

Thanks for your continued support as we continue to support Tetris Forever. :)

is there a chance this update broke the emulation display settings somehow? all the emulated games are now too zoomed in after the update with no way to fix it :(

I wanna give an update about the glitch, it might only be a steam deck issue. on my normal pc the game has no issues clipping off the borders and is zoomed out.

However on normal desktop, I did find another issue. you can't rebind the "Z" key, it registers as the "D" key for some reason. very very odd. I hope both of these issues get resolved. this compilation was cool to play before everything broke

Hi, I just purchased the game. On Steam Deck, the TV filters have to be turned off, otherwise the gameplay is super zoomed in. I see another player commented with the same issue. I’ve checked my resolution, nothing seems to fix it.

Thank you! Can't wait to try Welltris :) (First time playing it)

Also please, please, please translate Tetris Battle Gaiden! I know we have instructions, but it's a pain having to keep pausing and going to a different screen to look at and it still doesn't tell us what all the text says, eg the story and banter between the players before the game modes. It's the best game in the collection IMO and deserves better!

+1 TV filters are zoomed in on steam deck and cut off a lot of the game, top, left, right, and bottom. Please fix this asap or let us know a workaround. Only thing that works for me is filter->off

Also havent tried on my oled deck yet only lcd but the vsync issue sounds like it also ruins the game

I wouldnt wait to release a fix, its kids Christmas break

Huge thank you for making the Super Famicom games finally playable on Switch! One request I have for future releases is to always give the option to disable the rewind feature for all games. Your releases are infamous for their massive input delay and rewind—though I'm sure you've optimized it quite well—surely still has to be at least somewhat computationally expensive, so if there's even the slightest chance for a performance bump for people with weaker hardware we'd love the opportunity to at least try without rewind. Hell, even if rewind is so well programmed as to not cost a single frame of delay you should put in the option as a pure flex! Seeing the comparison in action would be quite impressive.
