Dynasty Warriors 9, Samurai Warriors 5, and Warriors Orochi 4 had co-op, but still surprised this does not or Origins for that matter.

Yeah, I've been having fun with it, but I really miss co-op in this title.

Are you sure friend? i remember being frustrated that the pc version of DW9 was single player i couldn't get coop to work on pc i may just be dumb if im wrong here, all i know is whenever a new DW game SW or WARRIORS orochi game comes out i ask 2 questions how many playable characters and is it coop

I'm sure.

To your credit, there was no co-op at launch.

Split screen and online co-op was patched in about 8 months later. But the damage to DW9 was done and most players did not return to discover this. And then players in general just not enjoying the game, experiencing performance issues, or getting overwhelmed by the number of DLC.

(Specific to the DLC, wait for Complete Edition to go on sale and that contains all the DLC listed on the Steam page. The limited time DLCs are gone though, e.g., racing suits and race queen costumes for 8 characters and some Legend of Galactic Hero costumes for about 4ish characters.)

The lack of co-op at launch with DW9, and the gimped CaW system in DW9E were the reasons I didn't buy those. DW8E remains the peak of the series for me.

Why is this not coop online in 2025

Glad to see DW9 added co-op. I'd actually added it to my IGNORED list because it didn't when I first saw the page.

But also yes, I agree with others here. No local co-op, no buy. I've got better single-player options.

You probably wouldn't want DW9 even with co-op actually.
Very few roguelikes have coop or if they do have coop it is not a fleshed out mode worth playing. I think Enter the Gungeon is the only game of this sort that really did it and cared. Isaacs coop is horrible for example. Wanting coop in this game is fine but thinking its some kind of crazy thing that it doesnt have it doesnt make sense. Understand what youre buying before you buy it. You cant like just the Warriors part of the gameplay and then be mad at the other half which is the roguelike that operates on shortish runs and meta progression

You have some good points here and i don't disagree with some of them but to clarify more of a Dynasty warrior issue than a rouge like issue I'm having here they keep driving the franchise AWAY from coop play when it was one of the pillars of what made the game FUN but yes you are right need more discipline with my money thanks for the reminder truth stings sometimes.

Plenty of roguelike games have co-op. What are you talking about?
