Xu Shu is in it, everyone else mentioned isn't though.
Also that 'lol' after Han Dang made me chuckle. Poor guy...
I want Jeanne from Bladestorm/Orochi.
Releasing with over a 100 characters (I don't know the exact number) seems fair to me though. Hopefully they can bring that to 150 with plenty of updates, and keep those free (whilst monetizing them through skin packs).
all game altering things come from upgrades
Movesets do matter.
There are characters who's movesets have translated almost too well to this game, making them much better than others.
Look at Sun Jian; his attacks have a multi-hit ring effect (same as in DW8) which increases consecutive hits and the consecutive hit passive benefits from this. He also builds up his mousou gauge a lot quicker because of this.
Every character I tried (admittedly only a handful) plays noticeably different.
Person who thinks every dynasty warriors character plays the same because you press square and triangle spotted
Movesets don't matter, idk what you guys smoked. It's just better AoE than others, unlike in DW games where you can endlessly juggle and combo enemies.
But sure, if you think hitting into the white bar of a boss with a different movesets matters.
You do you.
Edit: If they expand on Origins with more actual weapons with mechanics + a roster, you will have the DW game you want.
Maybe roguelites are just not a genre you enjoy, all of them are basically smack the same bosses while avoiding damage, but with different builds, weapons or characters in this case.
I do enjoy roguelites, it just doesn't really matter in this case here, I completed the game already.
There are plenty roguelites with weapons which include game altering mechanics and buffs to pick up to enhance that.
Game revolves around summons and musous, which is completely fine. Stages inbetween bosses are basically not worth to speak off. There are no actual threats.
I completed runs on like 40 characters, you can basically bruteforce the same build on all of them, there is little to no impact. Combo strings are just a necessity to get your summons off and build gauge on musou and the ally action.
Allies get summoned at the end of a combo string, So as Tadakatsu using a normal combo string to summon allies for there attacks is a good way to eat a hit, luckily you can use a hyper combo to summon them, its the fastest way to summon an ally but the damage is low.
Some characters have ranged attacks, meaning you can attack a boss while they are doing a big aoe, some characters like Naotora have a combo thats good for getting out of danger while still mowing down enemies.
Playstyle difference is so miniscule it doesnt matter though. Zhang Fei combos are atrocious as well to summon minions. Game is just easier on some characters, it does not add any noticeable depth to the gameplay whatsoever.
