Is this a P2W ?
Hello,

Blunt question, but is this game a P2W or "Pay to grind faster" with an incentive to get in-game purchase ?

Or is this a traditional rogue-lite where you simply slash and grind you way toward the end ?

Thanks !

Traditional Rogue-Lite. You can only buy cosmetics. Everything else you grind with in-game currency.

P2W can only apply to PvP games, so it's impossible.

Uhh, no, it's definitely not a misconception. The definition is literally buying power that you can't earn in-game that makes you stronger in PvP. There's nobody to win against in PvE.

fixed it for you. yes it more commonly used for pvp but its not restricted to pvp since there are other ways to compete against people that are not in game. two examples for this game is how fast you finish a loop or what score you get.

Secondarily, some games, usually ubisoft ones, put heavy restrictions on your means to make in-game currency without opening up your wallet. Anything they call a "time saver" is a solution to a problem they created specifically to bloat your playtime with grinding tasks that have neither narrative or sufficiently commencorate payoff

Any advantage that can be bought with real money IS "pay to win". It does not matter if it's convenience, a small boost, consumables, or anything.

Wrong.

Also wrong.

A definition exists because it only has one meaning. If you want to make up stuff then you need to call it something else.

It's called "Pay to Win" not "Pay to Win in PvP." If you're paying to win and the end goal of the purchase is to win then it's pay to win. Doesn't matter if it's PvP, PvE, Single player, score attack, time saver, etc. Even if you end up losing it's still pay to win because the goal was still to try to win.
