Do the Crawlers in Nightmare Mode feel overpowered?

I can't tell if it's a skill issue or not so if anyone has any tips to get past this, I would really appreciate it lol. I have been upping my speed to run around the Crawlers because they're so much faster in nightmare mode but I've noticed that at night they can be impossible to dodge sometimes because they block you off from your house and you don't see until they're already too close. Every other enemy in nightmare mode feels appropriately scaled for the difficulty EXCEPT for the crawlers. Is it just me??? Is there a way to get to safety that I just don't know about? Please help. I'm so frustrated lol.

I think you just stay around the door at night for nightmare, only leave to deal with the clowns, otherwise you just camp outside the door

except for tasks that you need to do, just avoid taking unnecessary risks at night in general

If necessary, you can set a timer. I don't remember at what intervals the crawler came and it varies sometimes, but if you do it with that you at least have a rough idea when you shouldn't go too far from the house ^^

It arrives on a timer though isn't exact. So you turn on the speed run timer in the settings, it shows up once you load a game, then keep track and stay near the top when it is close to the minimum time for it to show up.

From my experience, don't be at the edges of the map when it's close to spawn time (2-3 mins intervals). If you are too far away & the crawler happen to spawn opposite of you instead of behind you, it can 100% get between you and the door. I out-walked him a bunch in nightmare mode, but I also got killed by him in normal mode for being too ballsy and staying at the well too late. So, don't underestimate the guy.
