Servo skull scanner
I keep getting attacked from behind, I guess Terminators cannot see behind them. So I deployed the scanner, and I still could not see the genestealer behind me. Is that normal?

Mmm. I do not know about Servo-skulls since i use the old ways, but...shouldn't you see bleeps inside your terminators auspex scan radius? Also never leave your rear unguarded unless you absolutely have to and is sure nothing can atack you from behind.
I advise geting an auspex scan radius upgrade as soon as it is available. Helps tracking stealers movements.

I've also used the skull and didn't see stealers until they were only a few spaces from my marines.
Either they are completely bugged or i don't understand how they are supposed to work.

They tend to only be able to get you from behind if they're coming in from outside sensor range. Though in saying that, they dont tend to have enough AP to get all the way in from out there and then attack you. Only time i find this is if there's an entry point somewhere. Seems they can appear anywhere in those very large circle around the entry points - if one of them is inside your auspex range, they'd be able to close that distance in one turn.

Servo-skulls should detect all blips within their range, which is about 10 squares. You'll still be attacked from behind if you don't actively turn a Terminator to face the direction of attack though; the skull is only capable of showing blips, nothing more.

In additon, you should be seeing all blips within the Terminator's perception range, which is the light blue glowing circle around each Terminator. The range is base 4 squares, +1 per level in Perception that a Terminator has, plus any bonuses from Equipment or Skills.

You actually have to be facing the direction of approach in order to see Genestealers themselves and to attack them. This visual range is based on the Perception Attribute of the individual Terminator.

The end result is that if you are not seeing the blips when you deploy the Servo-skull, then you've probably got a bug. Try Verifying your local cache files to rule out the possibility that there is a corrupted file.

Also, never leave your rear or flanks exposed. Cover all approaches with teams of Terminators, and give them plenty of room to allow for Overwatch shots where possible. Genestealers can come through a variety of entry points in missions, and not all of them are blatantly obvious. They will also use air ducts which are sometimes quite difficult to see in order to flank your Terminators.

Well that explains something, I thought servo-skulls would show GENESTEALERS also. The new RPG system is killing me though, I cannot bear to let anyone die :) This game is very different from their first, the darkness is really challenging me. So far I cannot get past the first two missions without someone dieing so I keep starting over. Time to accept my losses and move on I guess.

Yes, good advice. If you have an enemy spawn point within terminator sensor range, don't turn your back on it. A genestealer can spawn and reach your squad within a single turn.
