Double Action: Boogaloo

Double Action: Boogaloo

How safe/reliable is it?
This game sounds like a diamond of Steam, but it's free. Most things in life aren't free. With that being said, Steam's greenlight set up DID make a few mistakes in the past. I'd just like some confirmation, that it has no viruses, malware (basically, anything the dev wouldn't advertise).

I'd also like to know if it works well on a win8.

It's just a Source mod, there's nothing dangerous or malicious about it as far as I've seen.

As for issues with Windows 8, no honest idea.

Wtf. Virus? Are you on drugs or something? There's no way in a million years that steam would allow such thing in the first place.
You should be more worried about downloading the game and less posting posts like these, because the game is free.

a friend of mine actually exploited a vulnerability in the newly-implimented functionality of a game's workshop, and uploaded malicious code that ate resources until your computer froze or crashed :)

You're new to Steam, aren't you?

ive seen in update notes to the source engine that there was an exploit that could upload viruses and malware to your pc from joining the server

over-simplifying and using scaremongering words so readily is why people overreact to exploits like that
it was patched quickly and few people suffered, especially since most players stick to official servers in valve games

It's not a virus, but it eats away at your free time

We won't upload viruses to Steam, we're not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It'd also be the worst way of spreading viruses really, since Valve knows exactly where to send the paperwork if people complain :)

About your Windows 8 question:
I've played this game on Windows 8.1 before and it worked fine.
A friend plays it on Windows 10, so that works, too.
I haven't used Windows 8(.0) yet.
