Solutions to general technical Issues

Hi Sailors,

We do our best to make sure the game will run on most computers smoothly.
However, each computer has different programs installed, and some users may experience some technical issues when running the game. If you have encountered any technical issues, the following methods may help you.

Here are some common solutions:
1. Rebooting computer is usually the simplest solution users can try, and it may just resolve the issue.

2. AMD Gaming Evolved/Raptr may cause game to crash (especially after character selection.), Also any macro, hotkey, or related clicker programs, including Razor Keyboard/mouse suite can also cause the problem. Please right click its icon from the icon tray (triangle bottom right corner of the screen) and select exit.

3. Delete X-Trap folder under the game's installation folder will force it to update itself upon game launching next time. You can find it by searching for GVOnline.exe file in your computer.

4. Majority of the issue causing the game unable to start is due to conflict between the existing anti-virus software and the anti-hacking software the game uses when it launches.
In this case, temporarily disable the anti-virus while launching the game should solve the issue.
AVG, Norton, McAfee and possibly some other anti-virus/internet security is known to block X-Trap from running thus causing the game unable to start after downloading. You can try to right click on their icon and disable them, however, if that doesn't work, you can try to put the game's installation folder in exclusion. If you are not sure how to do either or they don't work, the last solution is to temporarily uninstall them.

Avast is a highly rated free anti-virus software that works well with many anti-hacking software.
(We are not associated with Avast in anyway, this is simply a recommendation based on our experience.)
You may download and install Avast from their official site, please uninstall other anti-virus before installing Avast to avoid conflict.

5. If you have windows 10, try download IE11 and install it.

6. We ensure the game does not contain any virus or malware, any such report are either false alarm or the file has been infected with pre-existing virus in the computer, then a full scan of the computer is recommended.

7. All else fails, you can download OGP Launcher and register a new OGP account with a new email and play directly through the publisher.

When I click play, the game goes through the startup process but stops seconds later. The game never fully loads. I am not going to shut down my anti-virus and I am not going on a wild goose chase to try and make my computer work around the anti-hack crap. If the game won't load when I click play, I just won't play it. I've already dealt with that headache in ArcheAge. It's not happening again.

When are they going to start using proven Anti-Cheat programs like Punkt Buster? That never has any issues with Windows or Anti-virus programs is it they are too greedy not to spend money on it?

I take it that this game or x-trap does not support windows 10 ?. cannot get past login. keep getting error. Kernel service of the operating system is not supperted type.

oi, yeah that could be the problem...

have you tried runnign the game in compatibility mode ?

the thing is, win 10 afaik, doesnt even have full functionality, so it could be this win10 version itselve....

Game says Steam must be running and i must be logged on in order to play. I am both logged on and in steam. Ridiculous to waste time downloading if it won't start and I'm not disabling my anti virus which in any case is Avast and not the free version!

this post was made a year ago and people (me) are still having crashing issues which is fairly pathetic on the developers part. it only started after they added the X-Trap garbage so they need to either fix it or get rid of it, i used to play the game all the time but then they got X-Trap and suddenly it went to ♥♥♥♥. and as of today i just tried again and i STILL can't play the game. i've deled the X-Trap folder to force it to update, i have Avast so i know that's not the issue, and i have an AMD computer BUT i don't know if it crashes at character selection because it doesn't even get that far.

As stated in in the post. AMD Gaming Evolved is causing the issue. Please turn it off while playing.

OG hasn't responded to the issue, so I thought I'd see what support Steam has to offer

Anybody know "OGPlanet Socket error #10061 Connection refused" trouble ? Any solutions ? Disable and uninstalation of antivirus and firewall did no results.
