GVONAVI
I love this mod, or I should say I loved this mod. I had it for the last couple of weeks and it worked great. I also had my computer running straight for that same time period. Last night my computer received some windows update or something and did a restart, since then I cannot get my GVO Navi to work at all.

I load up and all but when I use survey nothing happens, no speed reading, nothing. I have googled this, I have asked in world chat and I can't find definitively what is wrong.

The real issue is that this thing once worked great, but now not at all. I don't know what if anything changed. I have tried re-downloading. I have tried just me without my alt, tried rebooting again. I miss this mod, I hate not knowing my speed. I have no clue why they designed this game with no in game speed readout. I can live without the map aspect though it's extremely convenient but the not knowing speed is driving me nuts as the games visuals are not always indicative to just how fast you're going or not.

i guess windows updated a somethign that involves what gvonavi uses........

i do know, i got a update yesterday for IE security crap, i dont use it, but i saw it coming by.....

so perhaps it uses elements from internet explorer that doesnt work anymore due to changes in the program... or some other library thats used, who knows......

you could try to reroll the update, system restore the update gone, and then you should update manually and see after what update the problem arises.....

i dont recommend stopping auto update and rerolling updates though. they come out for a reason.... i dunno, i dont use gvonavi tbh, i dont miss it.

what windows are you using ? 8 ? or 7 ?

You'd think though that if windows updated something for me then it did for any other gvonavi user so they'd all be reporting conflicts as well. I don't see that happening, at least nobody else seems to have mentioned theirs not working all of a sudden.

Like I said, i can do without the map part, it's the not knowing the speed that ticks me off. Are there any other mods out there that handle this? Why does this game have just one mod that I can think of? There are so many frustrating aspects about this game that could be modded to alleviate that, I wish there was some options out there. Like a mod that you can set to auto dump certain fish you catch and know you dont want. I have to do a tedious 6 separate clicks to dump out sardines every time i catch them if im close to a cargo max which I usually am.

well, i hear more people now atm, ive seen my 5th that says navi isnt working for them too...

it could react differently on every OS, win 7 win 8\8,1 ... so who knows what OS everyone has.

I was running UWO through the OGP launcher before the windows update, now I'm playing through steam as after the updates the game wont start due to conflicts with the gameguard.

Very weird thing happened. While playing the GVONAVI just started working again. This was days later, several restarts and redownloads. None of those things made a difference. I have no clue what happened or changed but I am happy it's working again.

Well I spoke too soon. I had another computer restart and it stopped working again and at this point it's still not working. I have no clue why or why not it's working. I use the GVONAVI as a map in the background and if i double click on it it'll tell me the coordinates where my pointer is. I use that with the coords in game to sort of plot my way across the map. I miss the straight line showing where i'd be going, and of course the speed counter.
