Stealth and story. It feels like a survival-horror game, with Watch Dogs hacking.

Very dialogue-heavy game! But due to absolutely amazing voice-actors, it is a great game to play. Contains tons of collectibles, which is a nice addition to playing the story. The story is well thought through and put into action into a logic way. Little gimmicks like the name "Hope" for "390-H" give an additional vibe of a game, that was made with much love to detail. Rare problems with the precision of steering due to camera angles, but that is obviously intended. Not a deal-breaker at all! Discover, how Hope finds her way out of the facility she was kept in, meet great NPCs and discover plot twists in this great Adventure-game.
Only major problem Achievements did not unlock in First playthrough due to what was obviously a Steam issue (started droping in after some random patch).

Amazing stealth fun for free

I'm providing a positive review solely due to the game's intriguing gameplay concept.
However, there are numerous issues that hinder the enjoyment of the game. The most irritating problems include:

• Awkward movements resulted from the constant switching between surveillance cameras.
  
• Episode 4 lacked interest and abandoned the best gameplay mechanics.
  
• The game's ending left numerous questions unanswered.
  
• Several locations were excessively dark.
  
• The puzzles were poorly balanced, being either too easy or too difficult.

I like this game. It's a nice story to follow. I would just like if devs could stop putting doors than you can't open until you are at the end of the game. I hate backtracking my steps, it's better when an area is clear for good so you go always forward and you have nothing to remember than you need to come back later.

cooper is kinda cute. and the guy playing derringer voices cyborg in teen titans so that's cool as well. screw the overseer (i cant spell his name), the lore was confusing

but anyway it was really good, ending was a teeeny bit of a bust but the rest of the game made up for that

The clunky stealth gameplay, broken pathfinding, random switching cameras, your player character suddenly going to random places when you're waiting for that patrol to pass... It feels like you're playing against the game mechanics rather than your enemies.

I could get over that since I love distopian settings. Story seems intriguing too. But the way the saves work in this game is a definite no. Game saves automaticly and there is no option to load a previous save game. No option to restart the episode either. Can I at least replay an episode I finished? NO!

Since I got curious about the world of Republique despite it's flaws I was playing the game with the intention of finding every document, listening every cassete etc but this save system makes it almost impossible. I mean if the gameplay is this bad at least let me explore the lore.

Also there is this bug that made an item I collected disappear (petri dish #2) after loading at episode 4 of 5. Now I need to replay the whole game form the very beginnig If I want to finish my completionist gameplay -_-

Duration: It took me 11 hours to complete the 5 episodes.

Enjoyment: medium to low.

Republique is a stealthy adventure game which takes its time telling a story of a girl in a dystopian future. I found it okay, but there are much better games in both genres (stealth and adventure). Therefore, I have a hard time recommending it to anyone. Play Blades of the Shogun or Thief if you want a better stealth game, or heck, even Deus Ex. And there are many better adventures out there. Really, if you're playing this for the story, just watch a 2-hour movie instead and save yourself 9 hours.
