This is still my favorite of the classic Backyard Sports games. The promotion and relegation system, the midseason indoor soccer cup, and the mini World Cup at the end once you've reached the top. As fun as it was to play with the pros in the MLS version, I preferred the original.

Yessss, this was my favorite of the Backyard Sports series too! This is so cool someone's bringing it back for a new generation of gamers (and for those of us who are definitely going to buy it to satisfy that nostalgia itch 😉).

One thing I loved about this game is getting to play in bigger stadiums as you go up in the leagues! And the cup you enter after winning the top division is incredible stuff.

The indoor tournament was directly inspired by the NASL aka the league Pele played in. Despite the league's failings, and there were many, having professional soccer teams play indoors in hockey rinks is a unique concept we should try again.
