This game was designed for kids aged 5-10. So I would hope so.

Interesting, I find hard mode on baseball (with errors off) to be much harder than this.

Backyard Soccer is definitely easier compared to Backyard Baseball. It all comes down to the nature of the gameplay. Even back when I was a kid I found it very easy. The game made a lot of advances compared to BB, like multiple seasons and different fields to play on during those seasons, but the AI isn't too smart. As you progress through the leagues I find that most teams take a more aggressive approach which can sometimes make it more challenging, but that often just means I'm winning games 4-0 instead of 8-0.

I think that I wasn't giving it enough time season 2 is a little bit more difficult but still scoring 6 goals.

Yeah, the other teams get more aggro as you move up. I'm in the World Cup now and the teams are actually making me sweat a little. I think the game mostly tunes up their speed to be way faster than any of your players can be. For the first time ever I was actually down at halftime and had to rally.

When I played this one as a kid, I remember it being one of the most challenging of them all once you got near the end. Looking at the stats of the players on those teams, it makes sense, they're all much better than any of the Backyard Kids available.

Yeah, I mean, Pablo just has 2 out of 4 skill points in both kicking AND defense and Jocinda Smith and Marky Dubois both have a total of 7 out of 16 skill points in general, giving the two of them the lowest amount of points in the whole franchise (among the Backyard Kids anyway)! Vicki Kawaguchi is one of the most useful players, having a total of 13 out of 16 points, more than any other of the Backyard Kids (despite Vicki's claims that Kenny is a better soccer player than her, Vicki's ball control is much better), even Pablo, who has 11.

I have it on the hardest setting and I beat the opponent 25-0.

has anyone been able to decompile the code and take a look at the actual statistics? similar to other games, I'm sure the amount of soccer balls (skill points) for each player category are simply an approximation and that the real values vary much differently, also, I've noticed that an individual player's skill can actually change depending on whether or not you're playing indoors or outdoors.. for example Pablo's control stat is very noticeably weaker indoors
