Nice work counting up the problems man, it's that kind of dedication that makes me smile.
About making a fixed pwad, that woudln't be that hard. That wouldn't take me more than half an hour once I have a complete list of things to fix.
I have ideas for enhancements mostly centered on using dummied out content from the demo, but I need to get the game first to look see if the demo is like what's included in the old wads. then again this is all a moot point if anyone wants to play with enhancements until nightdive fixes whatever bug is going on to make leads crash with port enhancements turned on.
The demo content isn't exactly the same as the one present in the actual demo. You won't be finding the gas grenades and all that, if this is what you wanted to do.
GOG's the only way to go.
Just ease off the millitant troll throttle and wait. Tribes 2 had a metric boatload of patches. Your mmo of choice gets tons of patches. Your phone gets patches now.
It sucks that things get wonky, but it will get fixed.
There is nothing game breaking and it seems that they took great care of the original material. It runs well enough even on very old machines. All the glitches mentionned up there were there in the original release, except that little problem with the breakable action flag. While that would be nice to seem them fixed, the game has never been in better hands.
Yeah I figured that. But that won't stop me from cataloging all these tiny mistakes :)
About the break screen action tag tho, I'm not sure the wad is responsible for that. I've had trouble reproducing it, it works in some places and doesn't in other.
