Unwinnable state in power plant (spoilers)

So, I went and did something stupid. After checking a walkthrough, it seems I went through the secret passage with the droid without getting the gold key first, and without opening the big doors to the reactor area. This means that I can't access Ketrick, and can't escape the reactor area.

Have you talked to Sammis the tech guy near the two switches? He should give you a key which both opens the big door from the inside and allows you access to Ketrick and the switch which exposes the power crystal.

After I talked to that guy again, the door+elevator worked. Not sure what happened there; the dialog was of the "I already talked to you, now get going" variety.

I think it's a bug. happened to me too on a second walkthrough. Only after I spoke to him a second time did the elevators work.
