More/Custom Map

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with additional maps that can be added to the game, or even better a map editor so that we can make our own.

Some quake tools work for the game. I also tested whether or not you can change the ,"Master 2," server to another ip and me and a friend tested that also. So if someone wanted to make a master server, they can. Alternative quake 3 master servers exist. But of course they are usually paid for, and tourney based. The game is still functional, it's just abandoned. There's actually quite a bit that can be done to the game. You could definitely create maps for it. It's ID TECH 3.
