King gives money if I lose?
I'm playing with a mage on Hard difficulty and I'm really struggling. I've only discovered 4 islands and now I am stuck because I have took all the items I could, completed all the quests I am able to solve and fought every creature I have a chance to win against. I have only red enemies left (lethal and harder). :sadpug:

But I tried one of these "lethal" battles and lost, and then discovered that I got teleported back to the castle and the king gave me around 15K gold. Now, will this happen again if I lose a battle, or does he give money only once? :dwarven:

No, every time you lose a battle you lose ALL the army you had at the moment and there's no way you can continue to play without an army. So you surely need some help to get up and running every time you are defeated :)

So I will keep getting 15k gold each time I die?

Yes, you will get 15K every time your army wipes and you get teleported back to the castle.
You could use that as a tactic to farm money but you would have to take into account how much you are paying for each new army as well as the time it takes to get to the area where the "red" encounters are.

Just FYI, you only get the amount of gold that the army you lost was worth. You also lose anything reserve slots when you wipe, but keep army in the garrison. So once you lose your army and your gold, it seems there's nothing you can do to get back on track.

I had the same problem, but restarted the game with some experience playing. One huge thing was I used the dragon's treasure hunt skill every fight once he got it. It made a huge difference. go into every nook and cranny watching for the beam that tells you to dig for treasure. They hid a fair number in little dead ends you wouldn't normally bother with.
Also I would garrison my stronger troops and use up all the eggs you find for spiders, etc. then use them for a fight and run away just before you lose. You'll sacrifice those few "freebie" troops but Frederick pays you for them, and the troops you fought will retain those losses, weakening it a bit.
